Absolutely beautiful meal for my birthday 🎂 the lovely young lady called Danielle was fabulous..nothing was to much,she answered every question we asked about the menu,she was kind attentive and a glowing warm smile ! Absolute credit to the Tame otter and team. Major complements to the chef..amazing food. The Calamari and king prawns were spot on, the best we've ever had !! Everything is all freshly cooked down to the home made beef and red wine pie to the smoked haddock and baby spinach fish cakes! Everything in the 3 courses we each had were fantastic 👏 the honeypot desert was to die for 🤤 Such a fabulous place to go and to eat.. we certainly will be back again 🥰 highly recommend 👌 5*

The whole restaurant/ pub itself is beautiful and you almost feel so far away from home. I need to visit in winter when that beautiful open fire is lit. The food is so beautifully presented and of course tasted delicious. The only thing we didn’t enjoy were the roast potatoes, they reminded us of those frozen Aunt Bessie’s ones but we still can’t wait to come back and enjoy the same meal and also try the rest of the menu. Already recommend The Tame Otter to friends and family who have yet to experience it x

Beautiful pub inside with friendly staff. Popped in whilst visiting friends in the area so we went for Sunday lunch. I had the turkey... food all very tasty and served by enthusiastic and friendly waitresses. Only negative was the roast potatoes. They were very hard and not crunchy at all. Most people love a crunchy toastie with a buttery soft centre but these were pretty solid - everybody on our table said the same thing so not just me! Otherwise, all good!

Nice, canal side, old fashioned pub. Part of a chain but trying to look like a traditional pub restaurant. Loads of space inside and out. Friendly service. The menu sets expectations that the kitchen doesn't live up to do, for us, it's not a special occasion place, it's a let's not cook tonight place. For example, scallops microwaved, calamari in chip shop batter, veloute was savoury custard with frozen peas and boiled ham in. For the basics like cheeseburger, fish and chips etc it looks great. Maybe if the menu wasn't so fancy, our expectations would be more realistic. It's in direct competition with the Red Lion across the canal. Tame Otter has better ambience, Red Lion has better food.

After reading some reviews, we were slightly concerned. However, our experience was brilliant! Great service, no waiting for food order, and all the food we ordered was beautiful. Spicy cauliflower soup, scallops and prawns as starters. Gammon and Pie of the day mains and Vanilla creme brulee and sticky toffee pudding. All served piping hot! Will definitely be back.

A small pub by the side of the Hopwas canal. Large outside area with loads of covered tables (which is great if it starts to rain) is available. The food was excellent and served promptly by friendly staff. Toilets are wheelchair accessible inside the pub building. Grab some food and a drink here next time you are passing. This is very dog friendly with a separate menu.

Visited on a Friday afternoon, the menu is not overwhelming like some, very well priced , both had starters and mains , too full for dessert, The food was really good, The young lady who served us was so polite , efficient and good humoured. The decor is great and clean, with lots of interesting local pictures Lots of drink choices and there is plenty of outdoor seating to admire the canal or the scenery . Will definitely be going back and would highly recommend..
