The 2686 Kitchen

Having been in Ventura for about 4 months now we developed our list of favorites and decided to venture out and try somewhere new. I like to break my fast with a really nutrient packed salad and that's exactly what I got at The 2686 Kitchen. Excellent quality veggies and a well cooked piece of salmon. Waitress was super friendly and the restaurant is very clean.

Finally went and tried this place last weekend for lunch, and it was delicious! The food is fresh, the waitstaff was pleasant and the atmosphere was enjoyable. They also have really good desserts. We liked it so much we actually went the next morning to brunch with the rest of my family. They have just started serving brunch and that was awesome too! We left nothing on our plates! Don’t hesitate to give this place a try. They do also offer takeout. I think I found a new favorite place to eat.

Oh my gosh! What took me so long to get here??? This is the place! While not a big menu, what they do offer is amazing. Every dish from appetizers to the main, to desert has a unique flavor. Everything appears to be made to order because it was served hot and not overcooked.The selection of beer is awesome! I suggest the Lizzard Lizzard Something Something IPA! I had 3 in what appears to be a small wine glass! Glad it wasn't a larger glass! Feeling no pain! The Beef Epanadas out of this world. The Pappas Fritas with Zatar seasoning was amazing! For the main we had Crispy Salmon Salad and Chicken Lavosh! Absolutley over the top! To finish up we had the Brioche Bread pudding! Super delish! Great service and recommendations! This is the place to unwind after a hard day. I wanna go home and melt in my favorite chair with my headphones and 70's music! Complete satisfaction!

Bright spot in the uptown medical art area of Ventura. They have a great selection of wines and beer. We tried the seared Ahi salad and the Strawberry salad (add seared Salmon). Both were delicious! Also not pictured was a side of hand cut fries with chimichurri sauce. Nice crispy fries with a lite, not overpowering, chimichurri. Service was good and the place is super clean.

The FOOD IS SOO GOOD!! I had the ahí salad with citrus dressing. My friends had naan grilled cheese and pizza, it was all so good! Average is about $12 during week for an entree, but a mini pizza is 8.99! They were decent sized pizzas with all toppings. Will return for the bottomless mimosas during the weekend for $10!
