Byron Bobe's Pizza House

So....I have eaten at pizza places and sampled the local food in 48 states and 6 different countries. Out of over 100 different pizza joints...this Bobes is in the top 5. The cheese, the sauce, the toppings, the spices(fennel and basil being the secret) are just awesome. Maybe it is because my extended family lives in Vincennes and it reminds me of better times....but it tastes awesome reguardless. I eat at Bobes everytime I come to visit relatives...or..come to a funeral...but it is amazing. They should let me open up a shop in Kokomo Indiana. The main local pizza place closed and everything else is just chain garbage.

My dad and his side if the family grew up coming here. They rave about the pizza any time the topic is brought up. They speak so highly of it that my husband and I didnt believe any pizza could be that good. We made the 2.5 hour trip to try it, and oh my gosh, was it worth it. The breadsticks were crisp on the outside and doughy on the inside, absolute perfection. The [meat lovers] pizza was so cheesy and hearty that we ate way more than we should have (especially after clearing the breadsticks before we even had a chance to take a picture). We are ready to make the trip again soon! Update. In the 6 months after this origional post, we .ade the same trip an additional 4 times. It is truly the best pizza we have ever had!

I grew up with this pizza and still make the journey from Terre Haute to get my fix. The pizza is top notch - I am a huge fan of a simple sausage pizza. The service is friendly and the pizza comes out perfectly browned with a thin crust and just the right amount of sauce, cheese, and toppings. I'm only rating 4 stars as this place needs an update. I really enjoy the 70's college charm but it's to the point of being considered delapidated. If you don't mind the dark, dingy atmosphere, this is an awesome place for a great slice of pizza!
