Crossroads Eatery

I wanted some breakfast and found this place via Yelp a couple months ago. I've had food from here about 3 times now. Food is consistent, tastes good, but portions seem small (particularly the home fries). Ordered take-out breakfast today which consisted of 2 taylor ham, egg, and cheese sandwiches, and 2 side orders of home fries. When I went in to pick up and pay, they charged me $20 flat. I usually never question it so I paid, got my food, and went to my car. Halfway to my car I thought..they overcharged me. I had grabbed a menu on my way out and pulled it out to look at the prices. According to their own menu, an egg meat and cheese sandwich is $5.25 and a side order of home fries is $2.75. My total should've been $17.12 with taxes. Now, $2.88 is not a big deal to me, and I wouldn't have mind paying it but what irked me is that when I went back in to get some clarification, the lady at the register was very short with me. She quickly told me that the total included tax and that the prices in the menu didn't reflect that. I told her, I incorporated tax into my calculation and it didn't come out to $20. I pulled out the menu (which they freely provide on their counter) and showed her the prices as I punched them into my phone calculator. She then told me that the prices in the menu are wrong. If so, why are you providing this information to your customers? I asked. She points to the back of the restaurant and said that the guy is taking care of it and it's not her problem. Again, I didn't mind having to pay the extra couple dollars..but after this experience, I won't be returning to this place and will not be recommending it either.

Been there twice. Two different cooks (maybe husband /wife). First time good, not so much second time. Bacon was precooked, toast average, coffee was burnt (bottom of the carafe, french toast 'eh. Never asked how our meal was or if we needed more coffee. Should be a lot better for a local spot and maybe cleaner.

Food was average. Service was terrible. Not flexible with orders. Wanted a water instead of a soda with my meal on one of the specials. They charged the whole cost of the drink on top of the cost of the special. Husband asked for no onions in his omelette, waitress rolled her eyes at him. They have signs all over the store saying "the customer is never right". And "No cell phones". Gave us food without utensils. Asked for them and it took 5 minutes. And they were dirty. Hand written menus and handwritten signs everywhere. I'm not even sure how this place is staying open with their complete disregard for customer service.
