Majestic Theater

We were part of a group that attended this play. Of course, the original movie was not a musical, but a comedy and the difference is considerable. The actors literally sang back to back numbers, nothing from the original movie and frankly, it grew tedious because of the repetition. In fact, the "9 to 5" song staged by the actors, was just too much. I couldn't wait for it to end. Other songs were just not up to par. Some actors seemed to scream their singing, and the performances in general, were very uneven. The theater consists of stacking chairs side to side and crowded. Oh, and by the way, no snacks or drinks could be taken into the theater. Instead, the patrons had to consume all of their snacks and/or beverages in the lobby. It just wasn't a good experience. The three main characters were awkward and seemed to be competing for attention, especially the actor who played Violet. Just not that good.
