With the only place that served Korean bbq, it’s doable but don’t have high expectation on being something similar to the city. It’s not a place where they change the grill plate, not a place where you cook all the meat, expect a mixture of Korean style and restaurant service. The selection of meat was fine, definitely thick in cut thus taking a while to cook the meats. The side dishes were extremely good, yes, those simple side dishes. As the meat were thick you could expect the waitress to hang out with you more. What I didn’t like was ordering pork belly for grilling and they decided to cook it in the back, 25-30 charge for that as we had three meats on the table already, that was disappointing. Like I said, can’t compare if you been to a Korean bbq place, but it doable for going to try it.

I use an optical store right around the corner from this location. I always seen the Southport location but had no idea there was a difference. Westports location specializes in Korean BBQ while Southport specializes in more noodle dishes. I found it interesting given this hidden location. I stopped by for lunch one afternoon and wasn’t disappointed. Now I’ve had Korean BBQ in NYC and I would say, this is very close. I will admit the sides are all delicious and the never ending. The service was incredibly friendly and attentive during the lunch hour. We ordered the bulgogi and pork belly and it was a great combination. I enjoyed sitting at out our hot top with little to no exhaust spilling over you as your food cooked. We finished things off with their fried ice cream which very tasty and filled with crunchy tempura. I recommend hitting this place for a late lunch before the dinner rush. I can see it being packed after 5pm. If you’re local to the area, give Wafu Westport a shot. You won’t be disappointed!!

Was craving korean bbq on the way back from NYC and found this place. The decor and location is ideal and perfect! Unfortunately the food is overpriced and disgusting. Upon entering you are seated in a beautiful restaurant with a chic atmosphere. The menu itself is very small and with the same stuff you can get across the street for cheaper. For $30 you get 4 pieces of pork belly for just one person. The side dishes were even sadder with flies coming out of the potato/corn salad. Overall if you are looking for just a quick bite, then this place is a perfect but for authentic Korean food, trying going to another place

They gave me a tuna poke bowl that contains absolutely not fresh tuna. I asked to the server if these brown tuna meats are fresh or not. She took it to the chef and brought salmon instead of tuna. (they didn't ask me if I would be served salmon instead of tuna. Actually, I don't like raw salmon.) She said that chef told that the tuna was fresh. I think nobody can think that brown tuna is fresh. Moreover, the menu says Korean chicken would be 6 pieces, but they gave my daughter only 5 pieces of chicken. They said it was because the size of chicken is large. Does it make sense? I originally came from South Korea, so I know what Korean food should be. However, the foods that they served were not Korean cuison at all. The owner or manager of the restaurant should know that cooks are making food with not fresh (unacceptable) ingredients.

We went here to celebrate our Valentines day, we ordered two bulgogis. To say they were in edible would be an understatement. The savory sweet marinade that is usually associated with Korean barbecue was nowhere to be found in our Bulgogi. The toppings were not that good, the beef tasted weird, it was too thick, it wasn’t properly marinated, and The entire restaurant was freezing. I want my hundred dollars back 😂

My girlfriend and I went for a light dinner, which took a while to acknowledge us once we were seated (even though there were 3 other parties). We wanted to split a hot plate meal but the waitress kept telling us there are two people at our table and we should get at least two orders. When my girlfriend asked if we could just get one, the waitress dodged the question and continued to pressure us to buy more along with sneakily confirming that we wanted extra items when we didn’t request for it. We overheard other parties experiencing the same frustration. There was consistent disappointment and pressure from the waitress despite just wanting water. We understand they want to upsell however, this was not the professional way to do so. When it was time to pay with a card, the waitress hovered over as she held the machine to check out and tip. There wasn’t a quick option for less than a 15% tip as the service thus far hadn’t earned even that amount, and the pressure made us want to leave. The food alone would be a 3/5, the service brought it down to a 1/5.

When they brought out an avocado and cucumber salad -- with brown, partially rotten avocados, my family should have gotten up and left immediately. Other sides were stale too. The worst part is that the $100 wagyu steak was a plate full of fat trimmings - no where close to even a low grade wagyu steak. I couldn't believe my eyes. A few dishes were okay, but all these problems tainted our entire experience.
