New China

I have ordered from New China many times over the years and raved about how good it was but now a guess there are new owners and it is not the same. I ordered Honey Glazed Shrimp and it was 90% breading and 10% shrimp for $13. I took it back and they apologized and remade it for me. Here is a photo of the remade shrimp. I removed the shrimp and the rest is breading. It is still not worth the money. I hope they fix the problems

New China has a classy interior and still reasonably priced menu. The crab rangoons we're outstanding and the tangy sauce they give you with it really steals the show. We got 4 types of sushi: the Sex Kimberly, sweet potato rolls, Philly rolls, and spicy tuna. All really tasty but very large and sometimes difficult to chew, however the person I was dining with didn't have any problems. We also got the hot sake, if you've never tried sake, try it hot rather than cold. All together this only cost like $40 👍

The new fortune cookies are the dumbest cheapest things ever. It is not even traditional fortunes. Cheap. Food more expensive with less food since pandemic. Ordered a chicken meal with barely any chicken. Nothing tasted fresh like years ago. All about money, not quality fresh foods. Some of the seafood tastes from frozen food. The shrimp tempera roll was soggy. There is the Phoenix in Coal City.

The prices are just okay considering the rent in Wilmington is not high! Just ordered for the first time. White rice is cheap but not for this restaurant, apparently when you order 3 pieces of egg foo young you only need a small 1/2 pint of rice. For get the condiments and fortune cookies, they are to expensive for this restaurant to give out with the meals as well. I've eaten at a lot of Chinese places from Chicago to the burbs and allover Indiana......this place Not worth it.

The sushi here is really quite good. The Chinese cuisine is delicious and so is the sashimi. They have a friendly group working there, and the menu is endless! Update: 6/2022 Since the original owners are no longer managing the place, the prices have gone up and the food quality has gone down. Used to be our go to place for a date night dinner, but sadly not the case anymore. I'm giving it 3 stars simply because it used to be our favorite. It just doesn't do it anymore. When they first opened they had great food and great prices, which allowed them to expand and double the size of the restaurant. This has done a complete 180.
