Da Bayou

If I could give it less than 1 star I would. Nothing was fresh. Everything was over-fried. There were hardly any other patrons, but it took an hour for our dinner to be served. My wife had the chicken tacos, I had the shrimp tacos. Hers were bland, mine gave me indigestion. The kids did seem to enjoy their Mac and cheese. The restaurant was dirty. The floors had not been swept. One of the bars were not used, except for the staff to keep DeWalt batteries, Tylenol, and Gatorade. The beer taps were not working. There was a band playing outside, we sat inside. It was 6:30, so not what I would consider after-hours or bar hours. The band was so loud outside that every time the door was opened we couldn't hear one another. Except for the hostess, none of the staff members wore a mask. This is not a restaurant worth going to, especially for families. I was extremely disappointed. We were hoping to give a new business a chance even though we had heard poor things about the previous establishment. We will not go back, nor would I recommend it to anyone.

Very nice restaurant in downtown Wilson. The atmosphere was great and the food was even better. I had the shrimp and grits. The only thing that I found wrong was that I didn’t have enough stomach to finish it all. It was delicious and I would highly recommend this place if you are anywhere around Wilson.

Good food, unique brews. Ate here during the North Carolina Whirlygig Festival. The staff appeared overwhelmed by the crowds. We overheard repeatedly how they weren't accustomed to crowds. Was told the kitchen was behind. You would think with an annual festival they would have been better prepared. Restroom was...ugh. On the bright side, server Megan was pleasant, and the outdoor seating was good for crowd watching. Good guitarist provided great live music.

My friend and I were walking around Wilson and happened upon this place. We decided to have lunch there. The Bloody Mary was delicious and so was my chicken teriyaki tacos. He ordered the hangover burger and loved it. We also ordered the fried pickle chips which were amazing. We loved it so much we went back for drinks later & listened to the band.. We'll definitely go back when we're visiting again.. 🙂
