The Wood Tavern

Many delicious flavors can be found here, but there was issues with the temperature of the food when served when we tried it. It's a very nice atmosphere to sit and eat in. Elegant yet casual. Smoked olives 3 stars I wasn't as impressed with these olives. There were ok, but not something I would order again. Lettuce wraps 4.25 stars The flavor on the sambal chicken was excellent. It was a little tough though. Campfire Cauliflower 4.5 stars This should be a 5 star item but it was served lukewarm. Duck fat poutine 4 stars Standard poutine. It was good but it didn't stand out for me . Braised beef brisket 4 stars I'm big into BBQ, but this was missing something for me. It made me think of the poutine. Chicken wings split into two sauces 4 stars? Bbq sauce was fantastic in flavor Lemon pepper they made for us even though it wasn't on the menu. The issue was it was lukewarm. Fish and chips 4 stars This was the one item served hot tonight. The portion size was huge. I would have preferred if the batter was a little crispier. The fries are not really salted, which is better than being over salted. Gingered pear 4 stars I loved the fact that have a small non alcoholic offering. The drink itself was fine, but not something I would order all the time. Service started off strong but our quality check never came during the apps and it came near the end of the meal. We had issues with the temperature of the food but we were starving and by the time she came back it was a mute point. The service itself was friendly and professional when there.

The place inside was remodeled nicely. Staff was friendly. They have quite a few different seating areas. They have a handful of beers on tap. We all had the smoked salmon eggs Benedict. Taste wise, good. The smoked salmon was really good, but you don’t get very much. The hash browns are basic, no real unique flavor. Got a side of toast to go with the meal. Strawberry jam was good.

Visited The Wood Tavern for a friend's birthday dinner. Ordered smoked olives, pitcher of sangria to share, The Wood burger with Caesar salad. Had a "Central Perk". One of the best burgers I've ever had, extremely flavourful and Very satisfying, and everything else also far exceeded expectations. Reasonable prices and would Definitely go back the next time I go out. Being a Friday, there was a live musician which was a nice addition. Great updates/renovations, attentive staff. 100% recommend.

Breakfast Side is 10/10. Good options, better breakfast portions and prices than most brunch places. Wood Tavern Side is 8/10. Amazing staff, cauliflower is beyond good, decent burgers+fries, and drinks are on another level. I have never been impressed by drinks until coming here. Overall, not a place I would come more than twice a year, but it's a refreshing change and still a recommend to friends!
