To Your Health Bakery

This was a disappointing experience. We specifically chose Winston-Salem as a trip in order to try this place. We bought two GF cinnamon rolls and a drip coffee (ordered off the menu). The server started making coffee with the espresso machine. As trained baristas we watched with a little confusion, hoping we didn't get charged for an Americano but let it be since it tasted fine. My partner liked his cinnamon roll. It was really sweet but good. I kept cutting into mine only to find piles of dry cinnamon (picture included). It eventually disintegrated as I tried to find viable pastry. Each bite that I tried was mostly cinnamon. We decided it must be a fluke and went to ask for a new one. The server told us "that just happens sometimes" and said she couldn't replace it. For the cost of each roll, this was so disappointing. We eat solely gluten free and this isn't the norm for a decent GF pastry. They had a big selections and lots of it looked great but it was too risky to try another item. I had planned on buying something to take home but we finished the edible food, tossed my pastry, and left.

We rarely pass up a dedicated gluten free bakery, so while in Winston-Salem we decided to visit To Your Health Bakery. We sampled several items including a Cinnamon Roll, chocolate cake donut, strawberry cake donut, key lime cake donut, strawberry lemonade cookie sandwich, and a chocolate chip cookie sandwich. While it all tasted ok, it was just meh - nothing to write home about. The prices were very reasonable for a dedicated gluten free bakery. Staff was friendly and helpful.

I have been to TYHB multiple times and am always so impressed with the loving customer service which every customer is met with, as well as the incredible array of baked goods. I literally didn't like cake until I tried their cakes, and they ended up making my wedding cake (peaches + cream, chocolate and lemon lavender!). I highly recommend this business to anyone in the Winston-Salem area.
