Mr Shabu Shabu

The two of us ordered the Shabu Shahu with beef, udon noodle egg soup, prawn tempera, and vegatable tempera. All very yummy. The server was very friendly and helful with the menu explanations. We went on a Tuesday lunchtime when it quiet, but the premises was nice and would be great I expect at dinner time.

Man, I use to have Mr Shabu Shabu all the time. They were normally pretty good. Haven't eaten for a while, and I am working from home, so order them through Deliveroo. For starters, there was no seperation of my sashimi and my main dish, so my sashimi arrived to me hot. My main dish was the Terikyaki chicken set. It is widly more expensive then what it use to be. The presentation was rather poor and the flavour use to be much better. Also, I note there was a ton of oil in the bottom, so my rice was just swimming in oil :'( Also, half a liter of miso soup with a set is a ridiculous amount. It only needs to be a cup. I assume there has been a change of hands and thus my experince. I note other recent reviews speculating the same. I'll be honest, I am unlikely to order/dine again; there are plenty of Japanese places in Canberra at much better quality for the price you are paying.

I used to come here for 5 years. Shabu shabu used to be a set meal with spring roll and seaweed side dishes, every meal was always served together with tea. I think the management changed. They now charge everything at an unreasonably high price. The cups are also not clean. This will be my last visit here.

We thought to have not eaten there because It looked quiet, but behind that wall people all the tables were booked. Tasty food, average price ($16/meal). The best part was Bonnie being our waitress. We were really impressed with her service - all 13 tables to herself. She was very sweet and always had a smile.

Omg they reopen for trading after quite a while! I miss the beef shabu set so much then I just stick to it. IT WAS JUST AMAZING!!! Ticking all boxes for me as they got fast and friendly customer service, cozy & warm dining atmosphere and most importantly, really tasty food. Everyone should go for a hot pot shabu in this freezing Canberra winter! High recommend! Will definitely com back soon ;) Keep it up guys!
