Coley's American Bistro

We had a great time at Coley's. My wife had the filet with Julianne veggies. They killed it! Done to perfection and the veggies were cooked without being soggy. I had the Canyon Bowl: it comes with black bean + corn salsa, pico de gallo, quinoa, avocado, chopped spinach, cilantro-lime dressing, and queso fresco and I added beef tenderloin. That beef was WAY over cooked...be sure to ask for it to be done the way you want it done. After I chunked off the charred parts it was fine. The service was on point! Our glasses stayed full and the staff worked as a team. The calamari was lightly breaded, and authentic, but it felt like it had a double portion of salt in the mix. Fun atmosphere. Living room-ish and comfortable. The bathrooms are small and downstairs. 1 hole poppers so you might have to wait if there is a rush. I will go again.

Coley's is a big, huge YES! The inside was made to be instagrammed. Super cute and fresh decor with a minimalistic plant vibe that was perfect for appetizers, which were incredible! This is the place in Columbia for unique appetizers. The artichoke cakes were like a vegetarian crabcake almost but instead of crab it was the sweet tang of an artichoke and the dipping sauce was amazing. The sweet potato tacos were next level delicious too, the mix of sweet potatoes and corn salsa with crema was delicoous! Also, their thin cut fries and pretzle bites with cheese were homestyle, comfort food perfection!

Got the Nash-como chicken sandwich. Unfortunately, while the sandwich looked appetizing at first glance it had more burnt breading than chicken and was extremely bland. The sauce was mainly a flavorless oil and I ended up using an old packet of Texas Pete I had sitting around to add some taste. Perhaps it would have been a different story if they had remembered to include the ranch sauce, but even though the fries were good it was not worth the $11 price tag.

If you like delicious Sangria, and getting caught eating right Coley's is the love that you've looked for, eat there, and escape! 🎶 You will love this cozy spot. Bonus points for the outdoor patio and the stocked bar. Try the shrimp tacos, hoisin pork chop, nachos, mediterranean stuffed chicken, or the pesto tortellini. When I'm wanting something light, I'll get a salad with a side of grilled salmon. When I'm ready to indulge, the chocolate gooey butter cake a la mode. Did I mention the sangria?!

Fresh ingredients and delicious. Good 80's background music softly playing was very much appreciated. I had a Canyon bowl with grilled chicken (see pic w/ plate served with avocado) and I finished every morsel. The only thing that surprised me is that they automatically charge a 20% gratuity added to our check. We are a family of 5 so that was kind of puzzling. Other than that, it was a delicious meal.
