The Twisted Mug Cafe

I've Been going to this coffee shop for years. Always has a small town friendly vibe. The baked goods are great good selection. The staff is always polite and friendly . Good prices Good to support local small town Business. Plus the know your name ! Or your Drink. The breakfast smoothie's are the very best.

At first glance this simply looked like an average Cafe. Boy was I wrong. I was delighted at the vast selection for beverages and food items, I felt as though I was in a restaurant. Truly astounding. So what about the customer service? Close your eyes and imagine, you're on a serene beach with white sand in Greece, they cater to your every whim, grapes and a fine wine. The service was like that and beyond, I felt like a poor mans Ryan Gosling! A young woman, Elaine I think her name was, made the upmost perfect peanut butter and jam sandwich I've ever had in my entire life. The technique and thought and effort that went into it, they truly put their heart and soul into everything they make here. The world needs more kindness, the world needs more Twisted Mug Cafe. Thank you.

I'm a retired veteran of Canada and I have a service dog. He is a clean well-behaved Golden Retriever. He wears a vest stating this and a collar. I've had a service dog for years. It's made a huge difference in my life it's got me out again into the public and enjoying life. Until I walked into the Twisted mug calf. Didn't even get to the counter before a man told me to leave because of my dog. Cearly he can see he was a service dog. He didn't seem to care, I tried to explain to him that he was a service dog that I was retired veteran of Canada and he had no right to refuse me service. Said he works for the Justice Institute as well. If he works for the Justice Institute you think he know the rules. He ended up serving me but by then it was too late I didn't feel welcome at all. Had a coffee and a muffin spoke to some really nice people in the store. I won't be going back.

Our coffee and sandwich was fine. However, I'm giving them one star (wish I could give less) because of the appalling attitude of the staff. After finishing lunch I asked it they had recycling for my recyclable items. She said she'd take them but would put them in the garbage. I said nicely, "no thanks I'll take them home...that's ridiculous". I stood and waited for my husband to finish using the washroom as I overheard her complain about what I said and call me names. I said, "really? I can't believe your giving me grief because I asked about recycling!" She said, "I can't believe you are arguing with me!" I said, "who's arguing? I simply made a statement that you should have a recycling bin because it's 2019 and we know better so we should do better!" To which I got more hostility in response. I will never go back. I did not deserve to be called names and made fun of because I care about our world and you don't. The better way to respond would have been something along the lines of...."You are correct. We should have recycling. I'll pass your comments on to my manager".

I've been here twice, I thought I'd give it a second chance but, Why does it need to take 20+ minutes to make one little drink if I'm the only one in the shop? Not only does it look pretty bland for a coffee shop, their coffee wasn't anything too special, I could get equal or better coffee at the bagel shop down the street. Service wasn't much better, when I asked for a straw, the dude working there just pointed to a table and didn't even bother to offer to get me one. And I'm sorry, I aint paying almost 10 bucks for a little skinny panini sandwich, ugh, at-least next door had big hotdogs for something to eat. Oh and the pillar behind your counter has like broken sealing all around it, how unappealing, is it that difficult to like fix?
