J's Sportsbar & Grill

Such a rad little bar, kind of gives you the cheers vibe. I remember coming here when it still used to be Ginny's Place, but they have definitely made some improvements since rebranding. There is about 25 televisions all around the top of the bar, a pool table, touchtunes jukebox, a nice selection of liquor as well as several beers on tap, a nice size covered patio and some incredible food. I am not sure what nights are karaoke nights, but I was there Friday night and it was a blast. There's a stage and dj booth and has always had a decent karaoke crowd even back when it was still Ginny's Place. If you are fortunate enough to have one of there bar tenders Jenny working she will ensure you are well taken care of and will serenade you on a karaoke night as well. I highly recommend this place for a quick bite, a nice beverage, or a damn good time depending on what experience you are trying to have!!!

I've updated my review to 4 stars because the service has improved. The bar is always clean and looks nice. They have wall to wall TVs, so there's no place with a bad view of them. The food has been consistently good. The catfish sandwich is one of the best in town for the price, and the wings are consistently delicious. The fries are popular with my friends, but I find them a little limp. The servers have always been very friendly, but in the past the food would often take a long time to be prepared. I'm talking 60+ minutes at lunch time when there's only 10-12 people in the entire place. They've gotten a lot better, and while I wouldn't recommend it to anyone in a hurry the food time hasn't been a problem.

J's is your typical sports bar. The outside is unassuming and in a rougher part of town, but inside is very clean and new. I've been there a couple times for drinks and thought the service was fine. I haven't ordered food there, but have been with friends that did and the food looked delicious. Typical fried bar food like wings, onion rings, and fried pickles. I wouldn't quite classify this place as a dive bar, but it's close.
