Mcalister's Deli

I came in with my two toddlers, exhausted from a road trip. The employees treated me with such kindness. Threw in an extra teddy grams for the boys meal they were splitting, then when I asked how much an extra chocolate milk was they gave it to me just to be kind. As I walked out they opened the door for me. Then the wonderful lady who had helped us so much already ran out and asked if I meant to leave my bag of chips. All small things, that meant so much to me! I love the food but this customer service was out of this world! Ps get the Memphian!

Friendly staff. Ceilings are vaulted, so the place wasn't noisy despite a busy lunch crowd. Food was excellent, especially nice coleslaw. Only four stars because the sign is over the doors, which don't face the parking lot. I had to loop through the lot twice trying to find it after dark meeting friends for the first time.

Ordered online and my order wasn't ready when I got there even though they didn't seem particularly busy. Waited 10 minutes for the cup of tortilla soup, bowl of tortilla soup, and ultimate nacho (which I was looking forward to from my previous visit, as a repeat customer) when I got home the only tortillas they gave us were for the half order of ultimate nachos which was not nearly enough to share. Thanks a lot, you probably won't see me there again.

This Deli is a great place for gatherings and the food is delicious! The menu is not just your routine deli sandwiches, the salads are amazing and the staff fantastic. I meet here each week with my beading group and we are taken care of with the most efficient means possible. Our drinks are never empty and we never feel rushed to leave.

Pluses: Food was excellent, there were lots of unique menu choices, prices were reasonable, the iced tea is delicious, and overall the place was clean. Downside: They didn't seem to have enough help, so it took a long time to order, get your food delivered to your table, and a very long time to stand at the counter to wait for a drink refill.

Enjoy many things on the menu. I especially like the Choose 2 option. Other places have choose 2 but the price varies by what you choose. McAlister's has 1 price. Salads and spuds are full of ingredients. My favorites are the Savannah Chopped Salad and Spud Max. Their fresh brewed iced tea is the best.

HORRIBLE service. It was "kids eat free" night, but they charged us for the two kids meals. They were understaffed and VERY slow. They brought out the kids meals first, except they only brought my daughter her sides...no sandwich. They brought out the rest of our food 10 minutes later, but my daughter's sandwich was still missing, and our 'hot' sandwiches were cold. I told our server my daughter's sandwich was missing and he went to check on it. He came out a few minutes later to serve two other parties their food, and chatted with one of them for about 10 minutes. By now I was getting mad. Everyone else was done or finishing our food, and my poor daughter still had no sandwich. She was very upset. A few minutes later another woman came out and I flagged her down and told her my daughter never got her sandwich. She finally brought it another 10 minutes later. I went inside and showed the cashier my receipt, explaining that they had charged me for the two kids meals, and that one of them took half an hour for us to get. They said they were cancelling my original charge and had to charge my card again without the two kids meals, and taking off one adult sandwich to make up for their mistake. I wasn't happy about trusting these people not to screw up the credit card transactions and charge me twice, but they did it right. What angered me the most was that not one person I talked to that day ever apologized or seemed to care that it took them half an hour to get one sandwich made for my daughter and that I was mad about it. I was not rude to any of them. Maybe I should have been. The sandwiches here were small for the price, and came out cold. The service was terrible. I will NOT be coming back to McAlisters.
