Glory Doughnuts

The absolute BEST donut shop in Frederick, and it’s VEGAN! Non vegans can never anticipate or believe how amazingly delicious their donuts are! Their new location is much larger with more indoor and outdoor seating and plenty of free parking. It’s also adjacent to the Carroll Creek park, and a block from Baker Park, so that you can have a stroll to relax after your meal, or enjoy your food in the park. We love their totally vegan brunch options. Their specials change every day. Also, if you have specific requests (like gluten free or low carb, etc), they are happy to prepare your food as you like. We have known the owners since they started making vegan donuts many years ago and selling them at weekend pop up shops. We are so happy that they have been hugely successful in establishing one of the few vegan restaurants in Frederick! It’s a place that you simply cannot miss when you are in town! One important pointer…. They make small batches of donuts daily and will often sell out of several varieties, or even everything, before closing time. (They are hugely popular!!) Be sure to get there early if you want to have all of the choices for donuts, or if you want to buy a dozen or more.

I really enjoyed stopping in to this place! There is a decent amount of seating inside, and some great food options as well. There is a reasonable amount of parking out back. I tried the Passion Fruit Long John, Blueberry Glaze Coconut Canana, chocolate cake, and raspberry donuts! They were fresh and delicious!

I'm not from Frederick so I thought I'd try a new place for brunch, especially since I love donuts. After standing in line for 30 minutes, I finally got to order my donut. They were out of donuts. That's right - a donut shop was out of donuts. So I ordered something else that probably takes all of 5 minutes to prepare. After I sat and waited for my food for another 45 more minutes, I finally went up and kindly asked for my money back so I could leave because I couldn't wait any longer. "Oh your food just finished," was the reply. So I took my food and left without getting my money back and threw my food in the trash when I got home. This place is a joke. There are so many other nice places to eat in Frederick. Unless you've got hours to spare for some unidentifiable food on a couple slices of white bread, go anywhere else!

Finally! A vegan diner with a normal menu of normal food rather than a bunch of vegetable bowls and flavored waters... Food was excellent, choices were fantastic, staff was friendly, I'll be back! And for those saying the donuts are a bit pricey, yea, it costs more when you don't make it out of ground up animal bones for gelatin or ground up bug shells for glaze and color. I'll happily pay a buck more not to eat that.

This place seems to be more about impressions than actual value. 1. They're closed on the first two mornings of the week you'd need coffee the most. Somewhat odd. 2. The cost vs quality of their food, vegan or not is laughably prohibitive. (Two donuts for $9.38 is a living joke). 3. There is an unnecessary pretence to the staff, where, when I order an item that is right in front of me on a rack, I must be given a number and then I stand there and wait...for small prepared items...that are in front of me. This practice wastes my time, when my expectation is that someone will grab my items, box them and then hand them to me so that I can go about my morning. This is painful especially when I'm the only person in the place. 4. No decaf. 5. Overly kitchy. I don't know how many times I can take listening to Counting Crows... Overall, ri-dic-u-lous-ly overpriced for average food, with a poor service operation who's closed on the two busiest days of the week, and trying -way- too hard to be kitchy. Speed up your service, make your prices far, faaar more realistic, serve more professional quality stuff including decaf, and ease up on the Counting Crows. Maybe then other non-emos will make more of a point to patronize the place. The items below were $9.38. Size comparison to my 9 year old petite daughters hand. Lolz....

This place was top-notch when it first opened ~2015. There was care in preparation and presentation, portions were plentiful, and dishes were flavorful. I ordered the Potato and Caramelized Onion Pirogies (images attached). This is an $11 item. The portions are insulting; moreover, not a sliver of onion to be found. Stick w/ the doughnuts.

Great place for donuts, coffee, breakfast, and smiles! All vegan menu and weekend specials. But don't be shy to try out Glory if you're not vegan! Their food is delicious and kid friendly. You can bring your dog to the outdoor seating. Great for takeout too! If you are planning to order on a weekend morning, I'd plan on waiting 30 minutes for food. They get busy!
