Shab Row Tea Emporium

Love this little tea shop. Stopped there today, for the first time since this stupid pandemic began, and they are still very helpful (and kind, they put up with talkative me and appeared interested 😀), with all kinds of wonderful teas to choose from. There's a little area upstairs to sit & drink a cup or pot, and I love the atmosphere they have created. During this visit, I particularly enjoyed one of their seasonal teas which I tried, Winter Wonderland, and also discovered I loved their Scottish Breakfast tea (a bit more full bodied than English Breakfast), so left with a cup to sip.

I love the Tea Emporium!! I’ve been coming here since 2012 and it’s as amazing as ever. The selection is unlike anywhere else in Maryland, if not the East Coast (I didn’t find anything similar in DC, VA, NJ, or PA for reference), and the expertise is the best I’ve found nationwide. I know that without a doubt, if I come in here with a vision for a tea, the Tea Emporium team will not only make that vision come to fruition but probably come up with a blend that is far better than I would ever have imagined. Example A, I came in asking for “Christmas in a Cup” (bonus points if you get the movie reference) and explained what I wanted. They do currently have their seasonal blends (fall and winter) and the Winter Blend is close (and good in its own right) but I didn’t want the peppermint note. Sure enough, talking through it and voilà- a perfect ratio (not 50-50 but 7-3) of Vanilla and Spicy Cinnamon. It’s F’N PHENOMENAL. Finally, they share their knowledge in the most kind and gracious, and a bit nerdy, way. I’ve learned so much about tea and accessories over the years. Don’t be afraid to ask questions and of course, I’d you’re trying to replicate a tea you had once, go talk it through or even bring a sample, they’ll be able to figure it out! The drive for me, an hour and a half, is *worth* it. I can’t wait to visit again. Thanks SRTE!!!

Wonderful place to find an amazing selection of loose teas. What really sets this place apart is the knowledgeable and friendly staff who for us went above and beyond to help us find a combination of tease that we're both fruity and refreshing. I love the decor, the large selection of reasonably priced tea accessories including gravity-fed diffusers , tea pots and tea light teapot warmers.. Cute and quaint second floor offers a quiet Oasis to relax enjoy a hot cup of tea. I give the Shab Row Tea Emporium 5 stars!!

This place has a MASSIVE selection of tea, always finding something new to try. Bonus points because they had neutral milk hotel playing on the radio, and not even the well known stuff, some of Jeff Mangums deep cuts. I hope we can get back to smelling the teas soon, since right now it's kind of a gamble, but I never had anything bad from here
