Ananda Bhavan-fremont

Went for dinner and my first impressions was the place wasn't well maintained. The place can get additional lights and new paint to bring it more lively. There was only one person taking orders and lucky for my visit there wasn't much people. Food arrived really fast and most of items from our meal tasted very delicious. The portion sizes were very decent. Their restrooms were poorly maintained. I would go again to this place if it gets a very nice uplift. Food is a win but the ambience isn't that great.

Decent place for ghee Dosa n poori. For some reason The quality of food degrades by the evening. Go there for breakfast and everything is fresh. I have been there twice the dinner and have had bad experiences both times. I have no idea why they have disco kinda lights and chutney videos playing all day long.

One of the worst restaurants I have visited in the Bay Area. Ordered a onion uttapam but could not find onions in the Dosa. The person was full of attitude. Service was bad. The best part about the experience is when we complained about the Dosa to waitress, she started pointed to the barely visible onions and has the audacity to answer saying “it’s not my restaurant and I am not the owner of this restaurant” Lastly the idli batter was old and it was smelling I recommend not to visit this restaurant.

Excellent for a south Indian restaurant! If you want to spoil your Sunday morning with bland food that doesn't taste remotely Indian which you can't be sure is not stale, no better place than Ananda Bhavan. Ananda means happiness - besides being in the title, it's hard to find happiness either in the food or yourself at this place. Oh! By the way, we also saw unclean dishes from last night beside the restroom. Just to cheer myself up, I was tempted to clean them. The only saving grace is relatively clean restrooms itself - but then, that's not why you're here are you?

The owner is super rude and unprofessional. We went there on Friday as the coupon said that its valid during weekdays. Initially they declined to accept the coupon saying that its long weekend. When we argued that there is no mention of it on coupon, finally they allowed us. We were two families which bought 2 coupons. But they didn't allow to sit next to each other saying that it has to be one per table. They completely ruined the fun. On top of it, the quality of food was awful. When we tried to give our feedback to owner, he refused to listen a word. Would you still want to eat there?
