The Buffet

Hubby took me here after he earned some free hotel nights and dinner points. Nice place to eat, play and sleep. We lost some and win some at the casino. Liked that they had a non smoking casino & hotel but we stayed at their smoking hotel since the other was full. Free parking. Great food at their restaurants. Great drinks. Had a great time.

My Dad loves this Resort and has wanted to go for several years but his health has kept him from being. Able to go. The resort offers scooters to rent and that helped him to be able to go and we had the best time. The buffet was unbelievable and the majority of the staff was super kind and helpful. We will return.

We come about once a month to have dinner. Tonight there was a long line at the coffee shop and my mom couldn’t decide what she wanted so the supervisor, Michael, took time out to help her with explaining the different kinds of coffee drinks. He was very nice and my mom really appreciated it. We really enjoy IV and it’s nice to see an employee that will go above and beyond to make a guest happy.

We haven't stayed here since before Katrina and I now understand why. The experience has been less than okay. To start, the people at check in were NOT customer service friendly. Seemed like we were bothering them and the phone was more important. Then, the room we reserved was no longer available. Once we got room keys, we walked into an uncleaned dirty room. Once we got through that, the room we were in was just disappointing. No hot water, some of the outlets didn't work. Tried to plug in the phone to charge, no power. Not to mention mold on the ceiling. We won't be back. I know that doesn't say much but after having this experience, it isn't worth our travel time or the money spent.

Everything was great except the buffet. That was not a good experience. We were looking forward to fresh shrimp and it was frozen and thawed. My husband had a piece of fried chicken that was raw inside. The BBQ meats were disappointing. The ice cream had ice crystals. We were here before covid and the food was wonderful.

Don't have too much fun. If you do security will ask if you have a room and ask to go to your room. When I go to casino's I like to have a few drinks, relax and have a good time. I have been to other property's and never had this experience. I was playing on the beach side and had been playing for hours. Not wining at all just trying to relax and have some fun. Island view seems to cater to the older crowd. I won't be going back there. They have too many other choices of casino's where I am gamble without being embarrassed and ask if I had a room and to stop playing. I know when I need to stop playing. The table was closed right after this. If they wanted to close the table, I would have stopped playing without three security people coming behind the table asking if I had a room and asking me to go to the room.

I came to Island view for a quick birthday relaxation getaway but I was unable to relax at all. Operations could use a little help, as this is what put a strong damper on my 3-day birthday weekend here. ——— The staff is a toss up- 75% of the staff that I encountered were either very condescending/ didn’t enjoy their job at all- the remaining 25% were decent to nice. ——— There is NO room service available & There is only ONE restaurant in the whole resort that does to-go food.This makes absolutely no sense for guests that want to enjoy food in their rooms. ——— Additionally, if you are lucky to get a to-go order, there are no microwaves in the ENTIRE resort to warm your food. You MUST rent the microwaves for $20/day- which I’ve NEVER heard of in my entire life & is quite frankly a slap in the face to paying guests. ——— I believe I also came on the wrong days because there is no form of entertainment Sun- Wed & the spa was also closed. On the bright side, the room was clean. Advice: if you are are looking for relaxation, good service, and amenities, please find another place to stay. This place definitely doesn’t fit the bill.

Love to play at IV. Last time we stayed the rooms in the main hotel were in desperate need of updates and three of the four elevators were not working. One of the hostesses at C&G gave us a fob for dinner (30 minute wait) and did not put us on the list so had we not went and asked we would have never been alerted. After we were seated the service was great. The food is delicious at C&G so it is worth a little wait.
