Pia's Trattoria

Took a short trip out of downtown for lunch. Glad we did! We sat outside and it felt like we were straight off the streets of Italy. Absolutely loved the atmosphere. The grilled calamari was my choice. The lemony zest was intense and loved that they were whole as apposed to sliced. The side of fresh bread suggestion was on point. All the food was wonderful and our server was fantastic and had great recommendations and knowledge of the menu. Highly recommend!

Updated: been back a couple of times and unfortunately food quality has gone down with each visit. Not sure if the recipes or the chef has changed, or maybe both? Ordered the same, classic Clam Linguine dish and it was prepared differently; was soupy vs. creamy, had fewer clams, and overall lacked flavor and freshness. Same with the Spaghetti. Pasta was also over-cooked. Excellent service from staff. Delicious dishes and homemade pasta, teas, and desserts! Romantic ambiance. Beautiful inside that feels like you’re in Italy. Nice outside courtyard patio seating. Good for dates, special celebrations, families, and large groups. Highly recommend the Mussels with the Ciabatta bread.

First time at Pia's and it did not disappoint. Parking was a little off as they turned us away because we didn't have a reservation. The attendant told us that there was an hour and half wait so we won't get in. Luckily we already dropped one of us off and she said that wait was only 30 minutes. We sat in the terrace area as we had our dogs with us. Our service was wonderful and so were our meals. Four of us ended up eating each others food and we loved every bit of it! Definitely recommend.

Came with no expectations, left a new woman!! Although I was solo, the hostess was kind enough to find me a table on a busy night in the back, half covered and half open to the night air. I pretended I was in Italy on the coast with the ocean air, candle light, and Italy’s smells seducing passerby’s. Karl is a fantastic and kind server. I tried the spaghetti Di Bologna with sausage. It was to cry for. And I certainly did…. The perfect texture of the pasta, wrapped up in perfect balance of quality beef and marinara… some fresh arugula and Parmesan from a dream. I savored each bite slowly. Some tears slipped from my eyes and splashed into the deep red Cabernet. It’s not often a meal makes me emotional. The bread was also, perfect. Thank you for the perfect celebratory meal. Salud!

Pia’s you were one the highlights of our vacation! A hidden gem full of flavor with the best authentic Italian dishes. If you are visiting the St. Pete area, you must add this restaurant to the top of your list. Service, food and ambiance were top notch! We continue to talk about our experience and can’t wait to go back on our next visit.

This was our second time to Pia's and it was just as good if not better than the 1st time. The staff is top notch and the food is phenomenal! Ashley was our server and she was the best server we have had probably in at least year of anywhere we have gone. The attention to detail was exquisite, she didn't write anything down and she remembered every substitution that was added around our table of 7! I forgot to take pictures of our food because it was so good but did get dessert! The Ossobuco was so tender and demi glaze was rich and full of flavor. The Calamari in the wine/butter sauce was some of the best I have had! I highly recommend getting the Bruschetta!

This place is one that I, without hesitation, would place as the #1 Italian in the Bay Area. Service, starting at the door and on to table and drinks was incomparable. Prompt, inviting and highly engaged. The menu was showcased, discussed, and our server helped us in selecting the perfect dish for our tastes. She even helped us to pair our drinks with the food. The drinks from the bar were made within view and the craftsmanship of the bartender and resulting taste...10/10! When the food arrived, we immediately were impressed with the plating and presentation. With the first bite in, and we immediately knew we were in for a great meal. The pairing of spice/seasonings was spectacular. Blending so well with eat bite. The fresh linguine, made in house, cannot be beaten and was perfectly cooked. The spinach salad was unbelievably good! With the espresso poached pear delivering an amazing taste! Not only was food and service perfect, but the Tuscan themed decor created a great ambience. This is the perfect place for a date night or that special occasion. Highest of recommendations!
