El Mezcal Indianapolis

I had a great time here. Good food and the servers were very nice. Everything was fine until I got the bill. They had not asked me how I wanted my steak cooked and put me down for well done (gross!) The steak didn't taste bad but I would have liked to be asked this question. Keep in mind, I was speaking Spanish to the server and my wife's first language is español so he could easily have clarified. Then I saw a $5 substitution charge for requesting beans and rice instead of fries with my dish (who serves fries with steak!?) Then an additional $1 for tortillas.. that I never ever asked for! I don't know if they do this to everybody, or if it was a honest mistake. But I like to know if I'm getting a $6 upcharge on my meal.

We are regular customers at El Mezcal and have loved the service and the food. They have a brand new menu and we are exploring the new dinners that are available on the new menu and the food has reached a new level of awesome. My wife had the ChoriPollo and I had the steak A La Diabla. The dinner was the best they have done. The ChoriPollo has an unbelievable sauce. Needless to say we highly recommend both dinners you won't regret having either one. Thanks to Leo and A'Manuel the service and food is always perfect.

Dinner with the family tonight before our Marching Band Competition at Zionsville High School! The place sits off the main road behind Texas Roadhouse. The outside looks inviting and well maintained! Inside was vibrant and colorful with a great Southwest feel! The staff was quick and efficient and very nice! The food was some of the better Mexican cuisine I’ve had! If you’re looking for good Mexican without the long wait, check out this place! They even have a kids menu with classics like chicken nuggets and fries!

My husband works close by and would always go with his coworkers. Finally went today for lunch and was impressed! Super cute building and fun interior - really like the courtyard area. Place looked/felt clean and service was quick, efficient, and friendly. I had the lunch chimichanga with chicken and it was delicious! They had a lunch special that included the pop, which was nice. The chips and salsa was yummy too. Definitely will go again when in the area.
