Formosa Seafood Buffet

1st time here, and I liked it. Typical buffet choices, chicken, chicken and more chicken, but I love chicken so works for me. The General Tso's chicken had a bit too much glaze for me but I still liked it. Staff was friendly and attentive. Buffet area was clean and food was kept stocked. This is a huge place with lots of seating conveniently located on 82nd St right by Castleton Mall.

This was my first buffet since Covid. As expected the price is higher. The quality of food items is not the same. The pre-made salads looked like they are saved and put back out. The fresh salad offered lots of choices. The hot foods were not appealing. I tried a few meats, but some had no taste. They had a rice with vegetables but only had onions over. It was like two white rice sections. No fried rice. Noodles looked old and were stiffed. I didn't try the grill but that would have been a good choice. They had a small variety of sushi. It seemed as they put out a few to say it was on the menu. Desserts had no chocolate pudding. I expect this at most buffets. The ice cream choices were as shown in the picture. Friendly crew. Price $10.99. I am sure there is something for all. I think a 4 star is a good rating.

We are at the sit down portion of the restaurant. The food selection is a great variety of authentic Chinese entrees in addition to the premeal and desserts. They also serve boba tea, which is not great unfortunately (it's too sweet and syrupy). However the rest of the meal was great, and we had shareable dishes. We had plenty of food left over to take home and we enjoyed ourselves well. Would probably come back to try more dishes and the hot pot options.
