Hotdog House

My family and I really enjoyed our meal. The foot long chili cheese dog was declared by my 11 year old as the best ever. My hamburger steak with grilled onions was very good as well. After dinner we then tried a slice of two different cakes. Both the chocolate cake and the strawberry cake were amazing. All the staff was very welcoming. Our waitress was very nice and made sure we were happy. The owner made sure to thank us as we left. Good people and good food, a winning combination. We will return the next time we go camping at High Falls state park.

My daughter and I were in the area and were hungry. I ordered the hamburger steak, with gravy and onions. Cole slaw, and collard greens. The hamburger steak was amazing! Cooked perfectly! The gravy and onions were the perfect compliment to the meat. The slaw was tasty, and the collard greens were excellent! My daughter got a hot dog, and fried okra, and loved them both. The owner is the cook, so you know the food will be good. If you're in the area, or on the interstate, try this place. You won't be disappointed.

We recently camped at High Falls State Park and ate at The Hot Dog House on two different occasions. Our first experience was fantastic and I would've rated it five stars. The wait staff was friendly, the food came in good timing, and the hot dogs and appetizers were amazing for the price. The hot dog recipes and combinations on the menu are unique and delicious. I loved the Texas Pride Dog! On our second outing, we sat out on the porch. The porch was infested with ants, but we found one table that seemed okay. Overall, the porch wasn't very clean though. The food seemed more mediocre on this occasion and it took at least twice as long to get our food. Half of our table was done with their food before the others even got theirs. Some of the hot dogs must have been sitting in the window for a while because the buns came out soggy. It was still a good experience, but we wish we had left with the memory of the first lunch in our minds. For a local establishment and one of the only options at High Falls, I would highly recommend eating at The Hot Dog House!

The food here is good southern food. I had fried shrimp with fried okra and cole slaw. The service is kind of slow but very good food and friendly people work there. I will definitely go back. The only thing is it's pretty expensive. I went with my daughter and boyfriend and ended up spending over $35.
