Cracker Barrel

I can't believe I have heard this restaurant so many times from my friends for years and never get to try. The food is delish and prices are extremely cheap. Their Roast Beef was super soft and the gravy on top adds more flavor to it . I heard that their chicken and Dumpling dish is super popular but I didn't care much ,to me it was missing flavors big time. Atmosphere of this restaurant is cool , the little board game they put on every table is fun , I even purchased one for my kids . I would definitely visit this restaurant again .

Stunning service! +2 star. Great vibe. Bland food :/ the breaded shrimp was great, but the sides, even the apple, were fairly average and not memorable. For some reason, the food was also not that filling. The service was slowww, but oh so kind. The waitress was clearly stretched between way too many tables. She was friendly and paid close attention to all of our quirks. A lovely lady who is the only reason this rating is 4 stars instead of 3. Overall, the food portion was fine, the price was… reasonable, I suppose, and the food taste was a bit on the bland side. A time for us to rest in the vibe of the place. It delivered what most Cracker Barrel’s do, so I guess that was fine.

Went here on our way back from Starved Rock. I had the Fried Chicken with okra, mashed potato and corn bread. My friend had pork chops with mashed potato, turnip and biscuits. Everything was really nice! So much food, we had to take some home. The waiter was really nice and friendly. The place and the restrooms were clean as well.

Went for lunch on a weekday. Long wait bc no clean tables. Long wait before approached for drink order. Ordered biscuits, corn bread brought with food over 40min later. I have ordered the ham here a dozen times. I got one that had been cut in half! I asked if it was a lunch special aka smaller portion and was told it’d always been that small…ummm no…$12 for what I got. And the fries were cold. Terrible.
