Golden Gate Chinese Restaurant

My husband and I have been going here for years. Family run, and they're very friendly. My favorite General Tso's is perfect; smaller pieces of chicken, plenty of sauce. My husband bops around the menu but hasn't been disappointed. You MUST try the fried dumplings - the dipping sauce is worth it on its own if you even just like garlic. Overall, always a good experience for dining.

The food is always excellent! Great flavors, great prices, and just perfect food! Updating my review after a year: The best Chinese food in the region. Inexpensive quality food with the best service. My go-to weekly. I have tried almost the entire menu, and the food has always been excellent and delicious. Thank you for your wonderful local restaurant!

First time trying take-out dinner tonight at Golden Gate and it was absolutely delicious. We got the chicken broccoli combo platter and the cashew chicken..the veg was so fresh, chicken meaty (not that weird chewy chicken) and sauce flavorful. The egg roll was one of the best egg rolls I have ever had. The platter was a generous portion and the food felt very clean. Since moving from NY (where good Chinese takeout is on every corner), we have been scared of trying a new Chinese food place since experiencing so many terrible ones out here in Lancaster. This place is a hole in the wall, but an absolute gem. Absolutely one of the top Chinese takeout we have ever had, and I am so glad we found this place, it will most definitely be our regular Chinese takeout place here in Lancaster. Thank you for the friendly and fast service as well and can't wait to be back!

Food is so fresh & Good! Such a nice family that takes pride in their quality & service! The owner is so kind & when I went there today & couldn’t decide he helped me choose just the right dish… I love lots of veggies & he made me an awesome dish with loads of fresh veggies, some chicken in a brown spicy sauce with white rice.., it is incredible! Now I just have to have him remember what it is so I can order it again & again! Thank you!

I’ve been searching for the best Chinese takeout in Lancaster and I think I’ve found it. I had almost given up hope of finding good chicken lo mein. I am so glad I stopped to check this place out. Just about as typical Chinese takeout as you can get as far as atmosphere. One thing stood out to me though, this is a family business! My all time favorite Lancaster Chinese takeout (China 1 in New Holland, RIP) was a family run spot. When I noticed that here I got immediately excited. The service was great. Prices were typical. Nothing on the crazy high side. They do have lots of specials on their menu which is nice if you like combos. The real winner here is the food. Tons of flavor and cooked perfectly. If you’re searching for good Chinese takeout in Lancaster like I was, you must try Golden Gate. My new go to Chinese takeout!

The service was fast, staff friendly, and the food is excellent. Shrimp were very big not like the tiny ones they usually give. Vegetables were tender and crisp, perfectly cooked. The honey chicken is awesome, everything is super fresh as served steaming hot. Prices were fair and it worth it best in Lancaster county. Free calendar in December!!!
