La Cascada

Good is awesome! Been eating here for years! My personal favorite is the “Sombrero”. Ordered take out tonight for the first time. $85 for four meals today. Unfortunately they did a less than mediocre job packaging out meals to go. They did not completely press on the lids on our shrimp dinner and burrito dinner. All of the liquid from those two dinners poured out onto the back seat of my truck when the bag split apart on the way home. Styrofoam containers were sideways in the bag, food all mixed together. Food tasted fine, but kids wouldn’t eat the food that mixed together. Paper bags better for heavy food, not cheap thin plastic bags. Contents shift and spill in plastic bags. Tonight’s meal was not what we are used to specifically because we always dine in the restaurant. Meal was cold and soggy and visually unappealing due to the cheap and sloppy packaging. I don’t recommend take out, but I do recommend dining in the restaurant. The pictures were of my meal.

Giant proportion, great atmosphere, food is delicious, the service was excellent super attentive staff. I was thirsty and they first gave me a large mug and then a GIANT frosted mug. I thought that was really cool. I had the Crazy Burrito and my son had the chimichanga with shrimp. The shrimp were very large. My wife had Margarita. We sat at a booth, I'm a big guy and it was roomy. We will definitely eat here again.

I almost never post negative reviews like this but I felt compelled to share my experience to enlighten others about La Cascada Mexican restaurant located at 1421 River Valley Blvd. My wife ordered a taco and rice via door dash earlier today and discovered a metal staple in the rice. She called the restaurant to let them know and to request a refund. The female employee first told her that they don’t even have anything that has staples in it and then proceeded to argue that she didn’t even see where my wife had ordered rice. She then stated that she’d refund the rice she initially argued my wife didn’t even order but stated that’s all she’d refund. She told her she wanted a full refund for the entire order and she argued that she can’t do that and that would be up to door dash. We will not be ordering from La Cascada again.

This establishments food does deserve 5 stars! However, I rated it with 4 stars because customer service could have been much better. It was 3 pm. There was only 3 tables occupied including ours. It took a good 15 minutes before being able to even order a beverage. They were friendly (all 4 servers) that came to our table. One took our drink order. Another delivered our chips and salsa. Someone else delivered our food. But, the most shocking part was once they delivered our bill to the table they disappeared and didn't return. The food was extremely scrumptious! My husband ordered the Sombrero. He said it tasted phenomenal and he would definitely order that again. I ordered the El Colmel. WOW! INCREDIBLE, carnitas, pollo,shrimp and beef with grilled tomato, onion, green pepper and mushrooms with warm tortillas. Beans, rice, lettuce, sour cream and Pico de gallo. I'm telling you seasoned beautifully! If it wasn't for the food I would have been more upset. There was a mistake on our bill but in the end they did make it right! I would definitely eat here again. I just hope they're able to correct their customer service before we return.
