Ike's Bagel Cafe

Having lived in NYC for few years, I expect my bagel to taste a certain way. This bagel was not just delicious but the bread to cream cheese ratio was on point with a dollop of cream cheese stick in between. Came here on route to a early soccer game and this was a perfect start to the day. Will definitely eat here if I am around here. Highly recommend for bagel n cream cheese.

Staff is quite rude. What's the point of ordering via text when you still have to come in and make your own drink? It's hard to support locally owned businesses sometimes. To add to your reply, I would spend more time training my staff on how to be more courteous to customers as opposed to waiting for the customer to alert you when there's a specific problem. Not everyone has that kind of time. It's easier to stop patronizing you then. Also, I still had to get in line even after ordering via text. The whole experience is giving me mediocre and not well thought out business plan vibe. Just strive to do better because you're falling short. Thank you.

Great bagels - terrible service. They seem to go out of their way to avoid eye contact behind the counter so as not to be the one to help a customer. Workers prioritize mobile orders over in-person service. It should not take 20 minutes to get 3 plain bagels with cream cheese when I’m the only person in line and there’s 5 people working.

Ike's IS our bagel and breakfast source in the Livingston area. The excellent bagels remind me of New York City of years past. With a wide array of cream cheese spreads available Ike's is the best choice for bagels in town. They also do a great job with various other breakfast items - egg sandwiches (on a bagel or toasted bread), wraps, omelets, pancakes, french toast. And a good selection of deli sandwiches for lunch. Portions are typically large for a deli. Try their Asiago bagel! A bagel draped with Asiago cheese that must be baked because the cheese is melted all over the bagel. A delicious treat. Their coffee is quite good also. Try the cold brew! Eat in or take out - your choice. They also belong to the Friends of the Livingston Library merchants program. Friends' members can show their membership card and receive a discount! Plenty of free parking - Ike's is in the shopping center with Wine Legend, Aldi's supermarket, and Mezza Mediterranean restaurant.

Everyone knows about the staff turnover and service being slow. I looked past it because the bagels are great. I looked past one of the guys behind the counter wearing a tank top during the summer exposing his chest hair (which had poppy seeds in it) but this morning, one of the more competent and consistent ladies behind the counter dropped a bagel on the floor. Let it sit for a second to not make it obvious and then proceeded to pick it up and bag it in someone’s order. (If management is interested in more details. Check your cameras around 9:08am.
