The best Huaiyang (淮扬菜) food I’ve had outside of China in the past 10 years! All the dishes are authentic and delicious, I will definitely come back again.

If you are looking for a tastey meal away from tourists, this is the place! Authentic Chinese cuisine off the beaten path. The meatballs were extraordinary. Like soft pillows of deliciousness. Highly recommended.

We had a family dinner in HE. The dishes are very authentic. We really like to roasted duck with sauce. It tastes the same as that in our hometown. Highly recommended.

We visited Restaurant HE for a lunch break after visiting the British Museum. The service was friendly and the food was delicious. We enjoyed the recommendation on how much should we order. The soup was delicious, and filled us up with energy and warmth for the rest of the afternoon! The deep fried golden pumpkin pie was the perfect dessert to end our lunch with! Will definitely return!

Was there for the second time and the food was tasty as the first time I was there. The food is quite authentic and similar to what you would get in a typical restaurant in Nanjing. Will definitely come again!

Visited multiple times here when I crave for comfort food, this is definitely the place. One thing I love about this restaurant is the food seasoning is very light compared to other Chinese restaurant, and I loved it because you won’t feel too greasy after eating it, and it taste like homemade food.

Visited yesterday for a second time.
Noticed a few things:
1) thé male waiter was audibly rude / sarcastic towards his female colleague (another waiter), as well as imo “shouting” down the food escalator towards his colleague in the kitchen - he was friendly towards us but witness of his attitude towards his colleagues made me comfortable.
I appreciate it’s stressful working on a sat evening, although I think being considerate /polite with each other goes a long way to create a relaxing environment for the guests.
2) I feel the restaurant is more efficient with its cold / salad dishes, I guess these can be prepared beforehand. The quality of hot dishes can be a bit “hit and miss”.
We didn’t have to wait for very long time for hot dishes, although one of the hot dishes Green Peas Tofu Pork (毛豆香干肉丝）hardly had any meat in it, instead of having supposed shredded pork listed in the menu, it’s more like very very tiny pieces of minced meat.
Overall still a very positive experience as it’s rare to eat jiangsu food in London, but marked down for above 2 points.

Best Chinese restaurant in London.
We had SWEET AND SOUR SQUIRREL FISH , JINLING ROASTED DUCK, YU-SHIANG Eggplant and SOUR COWPEA PORK FRIED Rice.
Good size portions, i was full but couldn't stop eating.
Fast service too, the owner suggested us dishes based on our preferences, we have been served after 15 mins, just enough time to sip nice white wine.
Good selection of drinks
Definitely we'll go back.

Recommend Restaurant He by Holborn for Huaiyang cuisine (jiangsu), specifically Nanjing. All the dishes were super tasty. One that a lot of people might not know if the gansi which is thinly cut tofu strips that taste like hand pulled noodles. Will go back for salt water duck! Only thing is the charge 50p for hot water..

The restaurant is known for Jiangsu cuisine, which tend to sport food on the healthier and less spicy side. The menu has many authentic dishes that are common to the region such as Lion's Head and sweet and sour spare ribs, both usually my favorites. Overall, we felt the food were really well prepared, not greasy, and resembled home-style cooking. Did I also mention they have a good selection of Chinese desserts. Highly recommend it if you are looking to try healthier type of Chinese cuisine.
