Jinli China Town

I have been here a few times now, having discovered it a few years back and it continues to impress me every time with its fuss-free, generous, spicy Sichuan dishes. The classic beef and black bean chow mein was lovely. Tender pieces of beef with perfectly-cooked noodles and the distinctively earthy black bean sauce gave it that extra level of savory flavour. The prawns with asparagus were delicately seasoned and had a very pleasant texture. Overly hard and chewy prawns can be a recurring problem at some restaurants but not here! This was also my first time trying pig trotters. The ones served here had simply been served with some vegetables. They were very nice but I would have preferred them to have been slightly softer. While they had a rich flavour, as the trotters consisted mainly of fat and gelatine, they became slightly boring after a while. But nethertheless, it was worth the try. The duck hotpot was delightful. Plenty of tender meat was served with chilli oil and chillis. The Sichuan pepper added that distinctive mouth-numbing sensation and the extra kick you really want when it comes to Sichuan cuisine! Try to bring as many people as you can to make the most out of the vast, tempting menu. If you're looking for a good, simple and affordable meal, this is the place for you. But it's not for those who can't handle chilli!

Dishes tasted just like the most authentic Sichuan (Szechuan) restaurants in China. Not just spicy but with beautiful flavours brought up by the perfect mix of special spices. The icing on the cake is the prices are really affordable with good portions. Definitely will come back again with friends and family.

Been here a few times, food quality has been consistent each time. Usually have seafood dry pot which is excellent, schezwan beef with other dishes are good. Typical Chinatown prices, service is indifferent and not worth the automatically applied gratuity to the bill. Update 18/10/22. Just been for lunch today. Seafood dry pot was great as usual. The chicken kung po not so great, tasted slimy and the chicken was a bit odd in the way it was cut as looked more like mince. Otherwise, great as before of you accept the indifferent service as mentioned before on previous visits.

We visited three of us sat evening. Seems to be quite because after dinner time. Staff was friendly and helpful. We ordered dry hot pot king prawn 🦐 and add fish ball, sweat potato noodle, black mushroom and snow slices beef. Not much spice! Tasty and feel fresh! The spicy sauce was great with rice.you need to order rice with this hot pot:) we spend around 80 gbp for three people. I think it worth and enjoyed spicy and hot food 🫣😬 we will be back to try other dishes.

we went on a normal thursday afternoon 6:30, wasn't too many people waiting (a long queue at 8pm when we finish, so make sure you come along early). The setup is quite nice, very traditional chinese, some thoughts into the design, spacious seats and big table. Service is relatively fast, the head waiter is very rude for no reason while the others are much better. Food wise I'll give it a 3-star, for authetic sichuan food. Grilled fish is not bad in flavor, but overly deep fried and not fresh, the veg inside has no taste, it's obviously just raw and throw inside. Average. I'd hardly come back TBH.
