Pret A Manger

Great coffees and great hospitality from the staff. Ordered 2 caramel lattes for me and a colleague on our lunch break, 10/10 coffees nothing wrong with them at all and the staff were so friendly. Service with a smile and barely any wait for the coffee, I got my coffees within 3 minutes of ordering! Definitely recommend this over the other coffee shops in the station and the shopping centre attached.

I'm scoring this highly because it gives the coffee aficionado a unique and prophetic experience. In the future, when we are required to queue endlessly and hopelessly for coffee due to post-apocalyptic supply being outweighed by demand, we will acknowledge that the Waterloo concourse branch of Pret were the first to illustrate this scenario- many years before the apocalypse itself. I hadn't before realised the extent to which radiation sickness will rob baristas of their short-term memory in the future. This is accurately portrayed by the fact that having submitted your order for a cappuccino,  you will be shouted at seconds later to determine whether it was in fact a flat white. Having placed the order,  you will next be directed to one of two concentration areas where you will wait with other desperate caffeine-deprived survivors until your drink and theirs is screamed at you, sometimes in a barely-decipherable post-apocalyptic dialect. Those in the concentration area on the right enjoy a commanding view of Waterloo Concourse, packed with refugees scurrying to escape the epicentre of the apocalypse just across the river in Westminster. Those to the left will be instructed to queue in no particular order by the fridges, much to the indignation of other survivors frantically attempting to access their contents in preparation their own long march to safety along the freshly-irradiated South Western Rail network. When the coffee commandant finally shrieks your order, it will probably be wrong. This instilled in me a moment of melancholy acknowledgement to the scant availability of coffee crops in the future, their native environment ravaged by our super-heated CO2-saturated atmosphere for the rest of time. We will have to make do with what is available- even if it is oatmeal milk. Overall a 4/5 for me. If Mad Max had joined me in the queue it would have been a solid five.

I just wanted to say thank you for the most amazing service I receive every morning from your Waterloo branch, inside the station. The team is extremely hardworking and totally deserves the praise! My favourite lady is Mirabella. She is a true gem, I enjoy her kindness, professionalism and her smile.

😊🎄☃️It is Christmas day and I was taken by surprise... a pret that is open at South Bank. Good spacious place with a clear overview to the river Thames. As ever good quality food with high standard of hygiene. The only down side is very noisy fridges and terrible loud music which could reduce the rating by another star but not today. Merry Christmas.
