Genghis Grill

The most unauthentic, bland food ever! I ate at this place a year ago and forgot why I haven’t eaten there since. I made the mistake of ordering from there again. The “Monaco Steak” was rubbery with tons of fat (low quality meat), the rice was crunchy. My wife’s dish “Chk Terri Udons” was awful, the side of fried rice was not fit for consumption!

It was our first time there and it was a little overwhelming at first. We really didn't know what to do or how to order. As we became more comfortable, we ordered with Elicia who was the sweetest. And she told us exactly how to get in line and pick what we wanted to go in our bowls. It was a very nice experience and it will not be our last.

This was a terrible experience. I lived in Southern California for several years so I was really excited when I saw that we have a Mongolian bbq joint. Unfortunately, this place was very disappointing. There was a smell as soon as we went inside. The floors were sticky and it just felt gross being in there. Then when it was time to order or waiter gave us a quick overview of how to make our bowls but did not really take time to go over the menu. I ordered the Pad Thai bowl and my mom made her own. After my mom received her food it was quite sometime before I received mine. When the waiter asked if everything was ok I said I was still waiting for my bowl but he never checked on my food. When my bowl did finally arrive the protein was shrimp (which I don’t eat) and when I told the waiter I thought it was going to be chicken he did offer to take it back, but at that point I was over the whole thing. Lastly, I did take a bite of the noodles in my bowl and they were bland and undercooked. Thankfully, my mom enjoyed her bowl since this was her first time trying a place like this.

You have two choices: Choose a pre-made bowl from the menu or a “build your bowl” process, in which you are able to choose your own proteins, vegetables, spices, etc. to be used in your bowl. The staff is pretty nice at telling you the process and you can make request due to food allergies. It would probably be a little overwhelming during busier times because the bar area is a little tight spaced. It was clean over at the bar, well-kept, organized, and full. The sizes are well-portioned from small, regular, and large. I would not solely go there expecting traditional Mongolian food (it’s a chain), they have a few options on the menu, but their main focus is the customizations and what they have to offer is good for what it is as you have a variety of spices/sauces to choose from such as Cajun to Korean BBQ. There is also a kid’s menu available, making it family-friendly. We liked it and would go back for a quick eat if we were in town.
