I preferred the Coliseum hospital for many years. The doctors and nurses always been professional. I was a little disappointed during my last visit. Even though the nurses and ER doctors gave me satisfactory treatment I personally had a problem with my discharge nurse. I was still heavily sedated when I was discharged from being observed overnight. I had no problem going home but it was the way she discharged me. She literally ripped my IV and heart monitor off of me and out of my skin and gave me a few minutes to leave. I didn't have a shirt on because they had to cut my shirt off to work on my heart pressure and pulse. I had a hospital gown on and she didn't give me anything to try and cover me up. I had no one with me and I went home on a Lyft. She barely gave me time to get a ride home. I told her I was still dizzy and hungry from the medication and she rudely told me to go to Diary Queen up the road. It was very unprofessional and humiliating. Coliseum really needs to evaluate their staff because they are going to soon lose many people because of services. Also, I was so disgusted I left on my own. When I left, I was still very dizzy and weak. I kindly asked the maintenance worker in the hallway which door do I leave out from and she grunted at me with an angry tone. If this is happening now I wonder how service will be a few years down the road.

Everyone was nice and efficient when I arrived until I reached my relative in the hallway of the ER. He had trash all over his blanket ( bandage trash from the IV, gloves , sharps) and when asked what to do with it, the young blond nurse said she didn’t know . Nursing is not her calling . Clearly her conversation not pertaining to work or patients is far more important than her job. Just WOW. Every day I am amazed by the sheer lack of human decency when dealing with people and the lack of dignity they provide. He was 5 steps away from an entire staff of people that could create a comfortable environment after being injured since 4:30 pm yesterday. No fluids ordered , no concern shown that the man has had a stroke previously - asked if they conducted a stroke protocol - I don’t know was the answer and then “oh yea, he did have a CT”. No, “let me look at his chart and tell you who is doctor is and his current status or what will be happening in the next twenty four hours to care for him.” His actual nurse was nice enough just not knowledgeable. The level of empathy, sympathy, compassion or lack thereof is unacceptable. Pets are treated better at a vet clinic. Patient care / comfort is not a priority for this young blonde nurse. Her self centered attitude and lack experience shows. She is the reason healthcare has a bad name .

Can someone from this organization explain to me how the citizens that fall under Federal Law ADA Title III are accommodated when the disability is deafness? Are the guidelines specified for all employees of each department and floor? What about when the disability is mental cognizance? My niece had been seen at least 3 times in last 45 days and based on what she is presenting with, being told, how her interactive care is handled and discharged the Federal Law is Not being upheld. Very serious inquiry. Please do not ignore.

If you can go to a different hospital. Room was hot and asking a nurse to get you something would take a hour just to get it even though they were sitting in a chair looking at their phone. They let someone stay the first night and gave a sorry a— excuse why someone couldn’t stay the second night They didn’t have a mask policy so the covid excuse should be irrelevant…….. By them not letting loved stay gives them the right to give subpar service and they have no idea what the patient really needs or the history of the patient’s problems of the past

DO NOT COME HERE!!! I came to the ER last week to get tested for exposure to C Diff. (Which is a serious superbug) and they just gave me meds and said only to get it if I was positive but nobody ever called me back about the results!! I’ve been calling all week to get answers but you either get passed around or people with dumb attitudes keep hanging up the phone while you’re on hold! It might be a fancy new name but it’s still the same mediocre service like always at this location. Do yourself a favor and just go across town to the North location (always have the best service all around, including the ER)!!!

I was just discharged from the er Clearly my blood pressure which on arrival was 186/83. Showed some kind of distress. They did the blood work. As I was sitting in the ear a dr in blue/ black scrubs was telling another dr don’t get bogged down with what a patient says he felt last night just tonight basically. Ok as I was listening I was thinking well if he felt this way last night and tonight he felt this way isn’t that relevant? A few mental patients had come in and the staff was laughing because the patient was talking smack. Every time the doctor needed to chat with me they would chat about my business in the open in the middle of ear. Doesn’t this violate hippa? So all the people around me knows my business interesting. I was basically told I had a panic attack and to follow up with my pcp. I was given meds but I am already on them. They said well just follow up with your pcp. They check blood pressure one more time and it was 168/70 something isn’t that still high. Sent me home with nothing but the knowledge I DIDNT AT THAT TIME have a heart attack . Wonderful I can go home and every time I have chest pains think oh your going to sit in the ear for 5 hours and they are going to send you home and say just a panic attack why bother follow up with your pcp. Oh and by the way it’s a holiday weekend .
