Taku Japanese Steakhouse

Really great rice, like seriously, so many of the hibachi/Japanese steak houses get rice wrong. We had bento boxes and the rice did come in the box. Which again, would never happen in an authentic Japanese restaurant, never! But it was cooked and served perfect, big kudos for that. The tempura was great and we had a Tuna roll the was awesome too!

Taku lunch yesterday was an overall great experience, as it has shown to reliably be over 1-3 visits per 6month periods over the last several years. The staff are the sort of polite usually reserved for much more expensive places. I had a salmon roll and a spocy tuna roll, which have become favorites in spite of their apparent simplicity. I'll be back for certain within a few weeks and know for a fact (based on our history) that I will enjoy my lunch. Everything is quick, too, as an added bonus when you've got a schedule like mine. A bear walks into a bar... The bartender is extremely busy and looks tired. He eventually makes his way over to the bear. The bear immediately tells him, "You look exhausted." "Yeah, it's been a rough day," says the bartender, "What are you drinking?" "I'll have a glass of...", says the bear. He waits a painfully long moment before finishing, "...scotch." "Why the long face?", asks the bartender. "Don't you mean big pause?", asks the bear. "Yeah, sorry. Like I said, it's been a rough day."

First time going.. My bestie took me here for lunch. Inside of restaurant is ran down, not very clean. Food was amazing!! The steak melted in your mouth!! We ordered off the lunch menu. Our meals came with a salad which we never received and had to ask for it while getting our bill. (Salad was only iceberg lettuce and a shaved carrot pieces.) Our waiter never asked us if we wanted refills on our drinks. Once they cooked our food, we never seen them again. Customer service is very important to me especially for what the cost was to eat there.. They need to clean the place up, maybe do a refresh on the walls and decor. Front doors were gross, bar area looked dusty and needed to be super cleaned. Sadly I was not impressed with the decor. But at least the food was delicious.

This restaurant has never failed to serve delicious food and a great experience. The night we visited, it was late and close to closing time. They had already cleaned up the hibachi area and were mopping for the night and still welcomed us in without even batting an eye. Excellent customer service and top-notch food. I highly recommend it.
