The Principal Bar & Restaurant

A new favourite location. The food is incredible and the staff often have us in fits of laughter, not that they're getting paid to entertain they just have fantastic energy and attitudes. The food is always consistently delicious and excellent value for money. The scallops and pork belly I'd go back for everyday! I'd like to see more wine choices and maybe a warmer vibe in the restaurant but we're more than happy to dine in the bar area.

We usually really like this little bar but it has slipped lately. Cocktails displayed on the board were unavailable then items on the menu unavailable. The Usually very friendly staff had disappeared and the gentleman with the moustache was far from friendly. We ordered a few share plates, the Pulled Pork Taco's were tasty enough but the meat was very dry and over cooked, the Squid dish was way over salted it was almost inedible without drowning it in lemon. The restaurant floor and the outdoor area looks like it needs a really good clean or some TLC, My last visit here was am easy 4 or 5 star but it has really let itself slip.

Recently dined at the principal for a birthday party with nine people, Who all agreed that the food and Service was excellent. Sadly I forgot to get the waiters name as we found him to be very friendly and served us with lots of enthusiasm. My husband and I have been before but others haven’t and said that they would be back again for sure.

Went there for dinner with my family. I ordered the 300 g Rump Steak with Mushroom Sauce. It was a good helping, tasted pretty good and was only 30 dollars. My wife had a Mini Parmigiana and my son a Mini Fish and Chips. Had a taste of both and they tasted good as well. The helping for both was very big. Only 10 each. A kid's meal is actually only served to kids, but they allowed my wife to have one that time Service was good and the atmosphere was quiet and relaxing as well (restaurant section)

This pub stands on the site of an historic school. The building is striking, and has a very cosy atmosphere. The dining room consists of large and small tables, some of which line the walls with bench seats and attractive soft furnishings. A beautiful feature of the dining room are the traditional double hung windows which overlook the outside seating area. The food is always lovely, and the staff are very friendly, attentive and welcoming. We visit quite often. The pavlova is a staple dessert option... and it's delicious. 💖

The Principal is an iconic business of midland, Ive dined at The Principal many times, The Principal burger would have to be their signature dish. Super fresh ingredients, home made pattie on sourdough, chips nice and crispy. Awesome food, Awesome Service, Awesome atmosphere. ***Bourbon Drinkers Please Note*** There is no coke on tap.
