Lucky Dumplings

I have never posted before, but the food was so bad at this place, I thought I had better save someone else. Had three dishes, special fried rice, funny taste inedible (threw it out) $12.80. Twice cooked Pork $19.90, must have been cooked so much the pork disappeared and we left with the rind and the oil! Salt and Pepper Calamari $19.90, good attempt at substituting onion and flour for Calamari. $52.60 for three of the worst dishes I have ever tasted. "Lucky" we all were not sick today. Why did we bother on mother's day of all days? Plenty of other good restaurants. I would be ashamed and concerned to feed this food to a dog!

Not impressed. I looked up the Lucky Dumpling online and browsed the Menu. It seemed ok so I made the effort to go down to the shop to order only to find out that the Pricing on the online Menu was hopelessly out of date and most items were at least 30%-35% more expensive than online which is quite a large difference. I made a suggestion to the lady that she needs to update the menus online but she was rather rude & dismissive to me and just said “They old Menus, Price Go Up. You gonna Order or Not?”… needless to say I did not. I ended up going two doors up to the Pizza place and they were extremely friendly and helpful….

So l decided to order uber eats from the Lucky Dumpling, Webb Street Narre Warren. I ordered fried pork dumplings in chilli oil. I asked for the chilli oil on the side, in a separate container as one of the people sharing this lunch, can't eat chilli. I also ordered a special fried rice and a serve of 6 x prawn and chicken dumplings. The pork dumplings came steamed, not fried. It also came with the dumplings in the chilli oil, not how l requested separate, in the special comments. The fried rice was terrible, absolutely tasteless. No meat, no ham, no pork, no chicken, just a couple of small shrimps. It was also loaded with bamboo shoots, trying to compensate for the lack of meat, and it cost $20. Out of the 6 x prawn and chicken dumplings l ordered, only 3 of them actually had a piece of prawn, in the dumpling. We will definitely not order from here again.

Had the worst dumplings ever. Lady was very rude. But that's alright if these were good. If you want overcooked greasy garbage for a Friday night, this is the place. Not recommended. Go to Dumplings Plus in Fountain Gate for a better and lower price. Just a minute drive from this place. Not buying again.

Ordered fried beef dumplings, there was no sauce with them and also they were raw in the middle. Next was the chicken & prawn dumpling soup. When I lifted the lid, it had a very strange odour. Could not eat this at all, the smell had gone through the dumplings & vegetables and it definitely wasn't chicken soup. All my dinner, inedible and thrown away. If I lived a bit closer I would have taken it back. Absolutely disgusting. You'll never catch me ordering from them again.

The food isn't great - average at best. Some of their dishes have a lot of MSG in it. We felt terrible after eating their Mapo Tofu. Also, there aren't many options on the menu compared to other Asian restaurants. The restaurant is quite small and the atmosphere is dingy. Unfortunately, there aren't many other options in the area for dumplings.
