Anthony's Chocolate House

I have been to this 1938 cafe on S 9th St many times. Paninis are very good. Great coffee,chocolates, cookies, pastries and gelato. Many items including their coffee and chocolates can be purchased as gifts. Seating area is very nice and well decorated and always very clean. My favorite cafe in all of Philly.

We visited Anthony's on a late fall afternoon to sample their famous gelato with a friend who's a gelato connoisseur. Collectively we inhaled 7 of their flavors. Lemoncello, Salted Caramel and Stracciatella were our favorites. It was impressive to watch the server pack 3 hefty scoops into 1 tiny cup without a drip. We ate at their small outdoor table. There is a cozy dining room if you want to eat in. Our friend enjoyed their gelato so much that she braved a rainstorm the next day to buy a sampler for a dinner party.

My family and I stopped by on a weekday. We had some iced cappuccinos and my husband had an iced coffee one of the baristas recommended. We loved our drinks. The pastries were delicious. Best cannoli cream we’ve tried. Everyone was very nice and kind. We will definitely return. They have a nice sitting area on the side and outside. They sale chocolate, sandwiches and their own coffee. Cool spot.

My good friend Tara and I ventured into the Italian Market on 9th Street in Philadelphia to find a place for Espresso & Pastry … we found Anthony’s and I have to say we thoroughly enjoyed both the Espresso (my drink) & Coffee and I had a delicious pastry to accompany my Espresso … we enjoyed these after dinner treats at the curbside tables … reminded me of the cafe’s in Italy and NYC … great fun … try them you’ll enjoy how your taste buds dance …

We visited Anthony's for breakfast recently and loved it! First, their coffee is outstanding! Just visiting them for that is enough. We also got the Gavone breakfast sandwich on few occasions and it's been awesome every time. The folks working here are very nice and upbeat every time we've visited. We also recently ordered chocolate covered pretzels from them to bring to a tailgate. The process of ordering online was easy. I also requested in the "notes" section that I would love some team colors incorporated into the toppings and they were able to accommodate that! These treats were very much enjoyed by everyone at our tailgate. We will be back for breakfast as well as chocolate treats again in the future for sure.
