Dippin' Dots

Many visitors have been predicting the failure of Collin Creek for years. I remember when the mall was supposedly "on its way out" back in 2008. Tremendous growth in the area and especially adjacent to 75 is sure to kick-start a revival of this aging mall. While Collin Creek isn't as fabulous as some newer malls, it still has a good selection of stores. Location is excellent as well.

Collin Creek is very close to my home. The mall is always clean. I love the Christmas lights. In fact I think the Christmas decor there is second only to the Galleria. Very nicely done. The piped music mall wide has a great selection of genres & changes often enough. Encore Shoe Dept. is worth the mall trip alone. It is a large store with great prices & selection. Great mall for mall walking. Not too crowded so people actually speak to each other. Plenty of mall security. Children's playground is good but very very loud & right under the food court which makes it hard to eat there. Lots of screeching kids. There are smaller empty store places but the real estate prices for the mall prolly cause high rental rates & there may not be enough traffic to support the smaller stores rental rates. I can imagine it's centralized location demanding high rental rates. Plenty of long lasting medium & large stores though. And some that offer unique things such as the Texas store with all Texas style items. I have been going here for years & years & will keep going. Lots of familiar faces there now. Charly's subs in the food court is pretty good.

Collin Creek Mall - Man this place has gone downhill really bad in the last 15 years. They need some major improvements here. It was no where near crowded on a Saturday afternoon around 1pm. It's sad how bad it is now. Alot of stores in the mall area are closed now too. And this visit was on tax free weekend too.

This mall use to be a good place to come walk early at morning. Use to open around 6:30 AM but lately you never know what time it will open, sometimes it's after 7:00 AM before the security folks wake up and unlock door #1. You can tell they've been a sleep since they are rubbing their eyes when they unlock the door. More and more people that used to walk early are going else where.
