Royal Tandoori

Food was quite good. Lot of vegeterian, vegan options to choose from although few options were unavailable on that day.Service was pretty ok as it took time for the waiter to come and take the order. Location wise, it was an easy and convenient walk from the train station. There is also paid parking close by. Overall a good experience but chances of improvement.

This is our absolute go to for an Indian Restaurant in Reading, can’t beat it. Great price, good service, and fabulous food. We find that we rarely need a starter as the main dishes surely finish off our appetite. Our staple order is the Chicken Tikka Masala and Saag Lamb with Butter Naan, Raita, and plain rice, split between two makes a hearty delicious meal. The spice levels on the menu can be a little misleading, we found the butter chicken spicier than the masala for instance, and the Saag Lamb also had a bit of a kick, so if you don’t have a very good spice tolerance I would stick with Korma or Tikka. The restaurant makes it very easy to share dishes, and usually has a table open for us when we come in. The staff are welcoming and friendly and the restaurant itself is top notch, being cleaned swiftly and to a good standard between diners.

We visited this restaurant for dinner and we got a table right away. The waiter was friendly, and the service was fast. I did not realize the tandoori chicken and lamb were served on a hot plate. It was quite good, but I have to say the poppadoms are the commercial ones. It's rather tasteless, I do not recommend ordering them. The Naan was alright.

I was in a party of 5 people and we are all lovers of Indian food, 2 are British from Indian families, but still foodies. Two had visited multiple times. This was my first visit. Overall the menu was not overly extensive with hundreds of options, it was boardering on sparse, but with key dishes for the major categories. We shared the Poppadoms and dips, which was good. We ordered an Indian beer to accompany the meal. We each ordered a different main, then some side dishes to share. The first thing that strut me was the large portion sizes, the prices weren't cheap but that was a bonus. We were able to share the mains and the side dishes, which made the experience among friends very pleasant. Overall the meals were on the peppery 🌶️ side, we did not order butter chicken. I did not know that Chilli Naans existed!!! The waiting staff were available but did not hover. The meals were available in good time, and the bill was also presented promptly when requested. We shared the bill and bid the staff a good night. Overall a very pleasant experience and I will visit again.
