Embers Wood Fired Kitchen & Tap

My wife and I as well as the UAB Athletic Director and one of our Associate Athletic Directors had lunch at this restaurant while visiting San Antonio for the UTSA/UAB football game. I had a Margherita Fresca Pizza while my wife had the Wood-Fired Chicken Caesar salad The other diners had the Pepperoni Extreme Pizza and the Wings. The pizzas were big, really too big for one person to eat, And excellent values for $10. I brought to big slices to eat later. Everyone said that they really enjoyed their meal.

Great experience!! The prices and service were Unbelievable🤩🤩!! So they getting that 5 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟!! I was asking about the different beers, I got like 5 different samples! Super Kool! The fried mushrooms were amazing😋😋🤯!! We came back later that night and ordered another few rounds of beers!! The Fireman's blonde was good and cheap!! We also ordered a pepperoni and jalapeño pizza, crust was really good! Pizza was an 8/10, but good and Wood Fired!! I highly recommend. These guys are Kool, good clean place to hang out, have a few beers and a great bite to eat!! Oh my god!! And the prices are great!! 👍👍👍😁🍕😋🤩🤩

I really like this place. On Wednesdays they have half price bottles of wine. Called wine Wednesdays. That's an awesome happy hour. The food is very good. I've had it a couple times. We usually sit at the bar, the bartenders are friendly and attentive. There is a nice patio with a large stone fireplace. Also they have a solo musician on Thursdays. Not sure if or what other days they have music.

We stopped in for dinner - i had been craving their herb crusted chicken. We also ordered the Ember fries as an appetizer. Those were really good! We also ordered a pepperoni and pineapple pizza - this was the first time we had tried their pizza and we really liked it. Next time I want to try one of thier other pizzas.

This is essentially a bar-menu, hotel-adjacent restaurant. Not a bad place if you keep this perspective -- food is good, predictable and just a hair higher than it should be but the wait staff make up the difference so it all evens out. Decent amount of parking, ambiance is about a "olive garden" level of noise, clean and well-maintained. While I understand the use of plastic glasses, its forgivable but annoying. Wish we had been able to be seated in a more visible section but the seating was comfortable and roomy.

Came here to get a lunch special, which they have quite a few options at a great price. I got the 6oz sirloin with mashed potatoes and broccoli. Food came out quick! The steak was ideal to me; juicy and tender. The wood-fire grill added a nice flavor, the seasoning on it was delicious, it was cooked perfectly (medium rare), and the garlic butter they put on it took it over the top. The mashed potatoes were great too with some skin in them. My server was very friendly, constantly checking on me, and gave me a few recommendations which I appreciated. They have several TVs here so it could be a good spot to watch sports. I’ll certainly be coming back here!

We went on a Saturday evening, and we sat on the patio. The atmosphere was nice, there were portable heaters and outdoor fans to keep you comfortable. I can't remember the instrument the gentleman was playing, but it was an added bonus to the chill atmosphere. The service was quick, drinks were nice and the food was delicious. We will be returning!

First time here and the meal was great! I had the Bourbon glazed pork chops. They were cooked perfectly and so tender. The flavor was sweet but complimented the chops to the T. My wife had the Smokey Mountain Chicken. Tender and flavorful and the sides were also cooked well. Service was good but didn't get a check back until we were done eating. We will be back for sure.
