Hon Machi Sushi & Tepanyaki

We took our daughter out for her birthday. She likes oriental food and picks different restaurants so we can take her. This restaurant is really awesome. The food was delicious even my husband liked it and he's very picky. Told his friends about it and they should try it. Our waiter was awesome and outstanding, a young skinny guy (Nico) I think. Overall a wonderful place to dine.

We didn't know this place existed or that they did Hibachi, it was not packed. Place was clean. Restroom was clean. Just came form La Cantera and those were the worst Restrooms I've ever been in. People were friendly and very good service all night. We had 4 different sushi rolls, egg rolls and three meals on the Hibachi. Our cook Eli was very good!

The food and atmosphere are wonderful for neighborhood locals like myself who enjoy not having to drive far for a great meal. My girlfriend and I visited yesterday and were shocked at the great taste. We were in a bit of a hurry, but loved the food. Today, we came for our second visit in a row and I brought a friend. He was also pleasantly surprised with the overall experience. Our food tasted great, the drink selection was nice, and our server Donny was great. I can’t wait to return!

I really enjoyed eating at this restaurant! The atmosphere was very welcoming and our waitress was awesome and extremely friendly. There was plenty of seating for bigger parties and they had a lot of options for sushi and Korean food! I ordered the Korean spicy pork and it rocked! Though I wish they could’ve offered some traditional Korean sides, it was very delicious! The sushi’s were also great quality and would definitely recommend coming for a fusion type of cuisine.

My husband and I saw an ad for this restaurant a few months ago so we were thrilled to finally have a chance to check it out for a dinner date. The atmosphere was comfortably cozy with lovely bold-colored, simplistic decor, and friendly, helpful wait staff. We started our meal tasting three small sakes we'd not had before (Hakutsuru, Nigori Silky Mild, and Moonstone Plum), all which were enjoyable. I did feel the Nigori sake could have been better if it had more flavor but it was good regardless. For an appetizer we shared an order of Takoyaki as well as a Sunomono Salad, both which we ate before I even thought to take pictures 😅. They were fantastic!! For Entrees, we shared a Sailor Moon Roll, Bulgogi, and Ddukbaegi Bulgogi. All three were absolutely wonderful, though one stood out above the rest. I felt as though the Ddukbaegi Bulgogi (soup) had warmed my soul with its rich umami flavor, perfectly cooked beef strips, creamy tofu and beautifully glistening sweet potato noodles! Saying it's a very special dish hardly does it justice. One trip is definitely not enough to explore all their menu has to offer so we will definitely be going back again and again!

Love love love the vibe and experience. We were greeted as soon as we walked in. Brad was our server- very nice, patient, detailed oriented. We asked questions and either answered it or found the answers for us. Food was delicious. We've had 30+ years of experience with Korean and Japanese food. For San Antonio, this is best place for Japchae, tteokkboki, and bulgogi. 희성 Hweeseong (management) also was kind of enough to stop by our table and had a really good conversation about the restaurant. She was very informative about the ingredients selected and shared what makes the dishes so unique. The customer service and quality of food matches the prices. A place you definitely have to try out with a group of friends.

See you next time Godori— I’ve been here 3 times and each time I’ve brought someone with me. This place is delicious, there’s something for everyone. I love the atmosphere & customer service. Our server was sweet and attentive! Highly recommend 🌟 Beef Bolgogi, Santos & Juan Sushi, Fried Rice & Chicken & Beef Yakisoba Noodles.

First off, I want to recognize the service. The service is really good. So, they get an A+ for that one. The food was presented very nicely. We really liked that they serve pretty food. However, the taste is a where some of the ups and downs. The appetizers we tried, gyoza and takoyaki, were really good. The gyoza was plump and great filling and the takoyaki was not mushy. The bibimbap was very disappointing for us, it might be good for others but too much bell pepper for vegetable was not that good for us. Wish there was more meat or even mushrooms. The japchae was okay. It is also pricier than other restaurants of the same type.

Wow! This place has changed! The previously sushi restaurant was terrible! Today was fantastic. Our waitress was super friendly and always had a smile on her face! The sushi rolls tasted fresh and were well made. The flavors were balanced. The prices were very reasonable! The miso soup was some of the best I have had in town! I’m so glad we have a sushi place near our home that taste amazing! We will be back!
