Sportman's Paradise Cafe

I’ve read a ton of reviews about this restaurant on the waiting time, however we were seated immediately- and the wait begun!!! Our waitress was “in the bathroom”. We flagged down the manager to order some drinks. Got them eventually. TONS of complimentary condiments on the table!!!There were no critters on the floor. Boudin balls were great!

My boyfriend and I decided to go here after leaving the casino. The line was long and they had a wonderful bakery display. We both decided to get the Cajun pasta which was suppose to come with chicken and sausage. The first time it was brought out no meat just noodles seasoning and onions, told them waitress she took it back and when she brought it back they had cut up some cold sausage and put it on top. This was suppose to be a Cajun dish I sent it t back and told them don’t even waste there time making another one smh

My boyfriend and I decided to try this place. The waitress whose name is Amber according to the receipt was very rude. My boyfriend wanted steak and eggs which is on the menu. She very rudely said that there is no steak and no breakfast. I ordered the catfish platter with mashed potatoes with brown gravy and steamed broccoli. My boyfriend ordered a sandwich with French fries. We got our food. The mashed potatoes were cold, gravy lukewarm and the broccoli was old and soggy. On top of that our drinks were 4.50 each for a soft drink. Needless to say we will never eat here again.

I recently ate one of my few (three or less perhaps) post-pandemic Sportsmans' Paradise Cafe meals. Before the pandemic, I enjoyed likely hundreds of meals in that cafe. My food was delicious. I left a good tip. My primary problem was my server and the restaurant management. My server did not wear a mask. If she did, I would have doubled the tip. Other servers were wearing masks. I even saw a masked management official. Despite my entire party having masks (hint, hint, hint) , this lady decided that her "freedom" (or some other unscientific, bs talking point) took precedence over respect for my party (the customers). Her nose and mouth didn't need to be exposed in order to talk to us. I didn't make a scene, because a relative has a long, mutually-beneficial relationship with El Dorado (now Bally's). I will think on how to proceed. The simplest, least dramatic solution is to just never go back again.

My husband and I tried for hours to get room service delivered to our room at El Dorado from this Cafe located on the 1st floor of the casino. Our phone in our room would not work. So we called the casino from our cell phone and were told they couldn't transfer us to room service from an outside line. This was after they told us we had to put our debit card on file which my husband made a special trip to the front desk to do. So my husband and MIL go down to the Cafe and ordered food to go. The person who was working was very rude and had a huge attitude when she told him he couldn't order food to go. He literally had to order food and put it in Togo boxes himself and bring it back to our room. We asked for it Togo bc we are traveling with our infant and just drove almost 6 hours and just wanted to eat. We will NEVER stay or eat here again. Zero stars for customer service.

I’m not sure why the ratings are so poor. We had excellent service when we came here. The staff was friendly and the food was delicious. Ordered meat pies and a filet mignon special for $15.95 and ordered it medium. It was cooked perfect. You barely had to chew it it was so tender. We even tipped the cook! I’d stay at Eldorado again knowing how good the cafe is. Thank you!
