Sauce On The Blue

Came here after a long hike. It was well after lunch hours. It’s situated right by the Blue River. You can sit outside and enjoy the river view. Maybe because I still had my dirty hiking outfit on, I didn’t get a warm look from the staff. But they were cordial. The service was good. We ordered soup, mussels and ravioli. I expected the food like what I knew and had before. But they surprised me with its unique sauce and plating. I absolutely love the basil pesto cream for the sautéed mussels. It was amazing. I’d love to try other entrees next time I’m in town.

The service was great. My meal, shrimp linguine, was very tasty and flavorful. I would suggest the shrimp has all the shell removed from it even the tail so it wouldn't be necessary to get my hands dirty in food to remove the tail on shell of the shrimp. However, my friend didn't enjoy how the fettuccine was cooked and barely ate her meal. The waitress noticed her food was barely eaten and asked her about it and conveyed her response to her manager and they apologized she didn't enjoy her meal and removed her cost of meal from the total. I thought that was very commendable.

We sat at the bar at 5:30 on a busy Sunday night! Walked in and there were two seats waiting for us!We had the best experience there I would say! Spicy Rigatoni is what we shared (house favorite) and I know why!!!! We also had margerita pizza which came with balsamic vinegar so beware….but it was an explosion of flavor! Fished on the blue, ate on the blue, slept along the blue river. Will be back to Sauce On The Blue every-time we are in town from Denver. Blood Orange Martini & New World Red Flight are what we ordered they’re both highly recommended!
