Denny's

Even though it was very short staffed (1 server 2 cooks) we were served relatively quickly. My party went at 10:30am so not a busy time anyways, but I saw many leave at the estimated 40min wait time. The food is as most American diners, Acceptable at best. Ordered over easy eggs and they were definitely not so when eaten but all and all not a terrible meal and staff was kind although definitely overwhelmed.

I ordered to go food crepes breakfast and there was an excessive amount of strawberry sauce and it was placed on top of my eggs and hash browns and it spilled over before I even had the chance to look at my order. I ordered with my mom and hers had the perfect amount of sauce but mine was drowning in strawberry when I tried to call back to be able to fix the issue no one answered and I trying to call for five to ten minutes.

There were plenty of places to sit. Due to the lack of employees, the diner has unusual hours. The sign outside says the lobby is open 6 AM to 12 AM. I believe another employee told my husband some nights they are closing early. You might want to call ahead. Our server had a large sloppy sweatshirt on over her uniform, but I was in layered pants and a light sweater and thought it was cool inside. She was pleasant and made a pot of decaf coffee to accommodate me, explaining it would be a few minutes. She was patient when I couldn't decide what I wanted to eat. She also searched for sugar-free syrup for me, as did a kitchen worker, with no success. My pancakes were a little gummy near the edge, but they tasted good. My eggs were still fluffy and tender even though I asked for "scrambled well." And, they kept the hash hashbrowns like I asked. Sometimes I wish Dennys had more same-price swap options as I get tired of the same sides to my pancakes all the time. The last time I ate here, I noticed many of the lights were blinking or dimming. I called it to our wait staff's attention. Repairs must have been made, because I didn't see any of that today. And, I specifically looked. The food and coffee were good and hot. The wait staff was pleasant although concerned about hours, wages, and life. This is NOT something they brought up in conversation. A lady was filling the jelly and sweetener containers on the tables. My husband asked how things are going, about store hours, do they have enough staff, etc., questions related to the current economy amid the virus, government stimulus checks, and many people not wanting to work right now. If you go get a hot meal, I hope you will remember the staff are people, too. Be patient, be kind, and be grateful they ARE working. Please lift them up verbally and be generous in your tips.
