Bean Temple Cafe

Bean Temple is located directly across the road from the Surry Hills Police Centre, and its clientele consist mostly of locals and police officers. They claim that their bacon and egg wrap is the best in Sydney, and I agree - it's ridiculously satisfying. The coffee isn't too shabby either. The cafe itself is rather small, but there are a few undercover tables and benches just outside. My only complaint is the limited parking outside (mostly police parking and a few metered spots), meaning the wraps are hard get to if you're not a local.

As a treat, I love indulging in a bacon and egg roll. Having decided to try one of these mega delicacies from Bean Temple, I am super impressed. If you're not full and satisfied after indulging in one of their bacon and egg wraps - then something's not right. The egg is cooked perfectly, and the bacon enjoys a subtle smoky flavour while being healthy with some melted cheese in between. I become full very quickly. Yum. Funky, rough, with a bit of a southeast Asian feel. Long tables, friendly service, really good coffee. Not the nicest location, as it's a long, dark, concrete room/balcony overlooking busy Goulburn Street. But it's gotta be one of the most secure places to have a cup, since it's right across the street from the Surry Hills police station. I hear good things about their bacon and egg roll.
