Rutland St Sandwiches

Pretty average compared to some of the other sandwich places around Surry Hills and the CBD. Had the Chipotle Rub Chicken, chicken was dry, house salad just seemed like a packet salad you'd get from the supermarket, basic slice of tasty cheese, standard wholemeal sliced bread and a slither of avocado. Small and bland sandwich overall. Go to The Sandwich Stop or Malibu if you want an awesome sandwich, same price, fresher/tastier ingredients and about triple the size.

I do love the wraps and sandwiches that these guys do, in particular the chicken schnitzel and the chipotle chicken. On wrap or sandwich absolutely awesome. The only criticism I would give is the charge of extra 50 cents for a dollop of sauce. Otherwise a Surry hills staple for lunch times in the week.

Disappointing. Have heard great things. Ordered the roast beef sandwich and the meat was dry, and the coleslaw old and soggy from the previous week. Might try again to see if it was a one off. Edit: apologies. ‘House salad’, not coleslaw. Coleslaw probably would’ve helped make it less dry actually. Either way, it definitely wasn’t fresh.

Nice sandwiches and salads for a quick lunch. The salad itself is quite small for 8$ so you need to add at least 1 or 2 toppings (around 2$ each) to be satisfied. The chicken schnitzel was a bit over fried but the chipotle chicken was tasty. I also added some halloumi but again was not enough. I guess for what you pay is ok but they could improve the portions size a bit.
