El Gordo_latin Bites

Excellent bagels. I got the Reuben sandwich which had excellent pastrami. The flavours were excellent with the mix of sauerkraut, pickles and other well placed ingredients. The rest of the fam got the normal smoked salmon bagel which was great and the chicken Katsu which was also great. Would definitely come back here. Bagels are around $14 for the classic lox to $18-19 for the special bagels.

As a native New Yorker living in regional NSW, I'm afraid this bagel did not meet my hopeful expectations. It was soft and breadlike, lacking the chewiness, malty flavour, and hard shell of a proper New York bagel. I ordered a plain bagel (the only variety) with plain cream cheese. That said, the staff was very friendly and I appreciated the simplicity of the operation and the generous helping of cream cheese. The bagel was also served properly fresh, not toasted, so bonus points for that. I'm sure the many other sandwich toppings are also high quality and make a good meal. Sadly, this bagel just didn't capture the taste of home for me.

Was really craving a bagel so ventured to Bondi for a classic lox bagel. I have been here a couple of times in the past and had better experiences. There didn’t seem to be much lox included on my bagel and the bagel seemed a little stale. The overall flavour was good, but could have been better if more lox included and fresher bagel. *extra star given for previous experiences here
