I had been a fan of the Sherman Oaks location for years and decided to give this location a try. I was deeply disappointed. The food wasn't flavorful at all. The sushi was good until I found several small gnats in the freezer case at the sushi bar. The lunch specials are really great and the items are usually good, but this last visit was literally my last.

Horrible place. Sadly, this used to be my favorite restaurant and I’d recommend all my friends there. That’s until I went there one day with my lady and we were accused of once stealing food from them. It was our first time going together and they never welcomed us from the minute we walked in. They gave us a cold stare and we waited almost 15 minutes for them to approach us. Only for the waitress to say “we aren’t serving you. We have you on camera last week eating and leaving without paying.” As you can imagine, this was very embarrassing and I couldn’t believe we were racially profiled. THEY DIDN’T even let us eat. Told us they would call the cops if we didn’t leave. I will also post videos on my social media from this day! No one will want to eat here after I’m done!

This is a mom and pop restaurant so consider that going in. Just a couple whose owned the restaurant forever. I am a native San Franciscan and the food is excellent. A hidden gem indeed. I personally love the mongolian pork. Anything battered is really battered but good. Nothing fancy if you're looking for that. Just plain old good food.

If I could put a ten star on this I would. The food is so delicious that five stars is not enough. The baked scallop roll is the most exquisite culinary delight. I will change your life. It takes a little longer to get your food but you can taste why.... Extra care to prep. Consistently amazing.

The chef is so nice, he shops every morning at the fish market. I usually ask him what is good and let him make the choices and it is wonderful, I love sashimi and sushi, and I had the albacore where he seared it with the blow torch it was so good along a plate of different sushi. My boyfriend gets the chef rolls and loves them. I would definitely recommend this place. I will definitely be back! Also the price are great for what you get! Parking is limited so I would suggest Ubering there.

First time sweet and sour chicken was amazing, orange chicken taste like straight soy sauce, rude waitress. Second visit sushi was terrible, hard scallops🤢 sweet and sour chicken over cooked. Won't go back

I've been here at least 4 times since my initial review. I placed a takeout order last night and was disappointed with the quality and size of the wings for the same price. If this is the new norm, I will not be returning. I have attached a photo.

despite some poor reviews, we took the advice of the hotel concierge and came to Asakuma Rice in West Hollywood. we were in search of chinese soup and noodle dishes, and they did and excellent job on both fronts. I had egg drop soup with corn and crab meat to start and that was great. for my principal dish I had the pad thai tofu with snap peas and baby bokchoy. my partner had the champong, a spicy chili, muscle and black mushroom in beef broth with udon noodles. his soup was huge, more than enough to cure a rainy day in LA. toss in a big bottle of perrier and the bill was $30. an excellent value for our full and satisfied bellies.
