El Tio Taco

Went with wifey for lunch today. Service was horrible as they never gave us the tortilla chips with the salsa that they use to give out when you ate inside. We sat outside on the tables they recently setup. Also previously their menus use to list their prices and now they don't. Not sure why, maybe they think they are a upscale restaurant. Next time , I will try the one on 51st instead of the one on 55th st across from the post office

So I usually order delivery from this place and 2 times I've had something wrong with my food first I found a sharp plastic object in my food I let it go just didn't call for awhile yesterday I thought let me give them another shot enchiladas were decent so I decided to order again today bad decision .I got the beef tostadas the cheese on top smelled n tasted funky I called and let them now this time I threw up what I ate n I think this time I have learned my lesson

It doesn't get more authentic than this -and that's saying a lot for West New York. It's usually bustling on the weekends. Food is Delicious with capital D, and very reasonably priced too. No children's menu but ask your server for chicken fingers and fries if that's your thing. Try the pozole. Order an horchata drink. Every sauce that comes with the complimentary chips is super hot. Every one. That said, don't expect a franchise look and feel nor any polish in the decor. It's very mom-and-pop. As a rule of thumb for Mexican restaurants in general: the worse the mural on the wall, the better the food.
