I am very disappointed in the Wheaton Costco location, as well as Costco’s claims department. They demonstrate a complete lack of care for their customers and take no responsibility for their faults. My wife and I shopped at the location recently. When leaving the parking lot, we backed out of our space normally, however struck a long line of Costco carts that had clearly not been attended to, as they stretched well into the driving lane. The impact damaged the rear taillight of our vehicle. We immediately went back into Costco to file a report. As we were returning, I noticed there were a group of 4 or 5 cart attendants that were standing around talking, not attending to the carts in the parking lot at all. After filing a claim, I was told that I would hear back within 2 business days. After having to follow-up multiple times over the next few days, Costco’s claim department eventually told me that they do not take responsibility for damage from carts in the parking area. While I can understand this policy under normal circumstances, the damage to my car would not have happened if Costco cart attendants were attending to the parking lot areas, instead of standing around doing nothing. Despite their policies, the right thing to do in this situation would be to assist in repairing the damage to my vehicle, rather than telling me that I’m SOL. I expected better from Costco, but am really disappointed at how they handled this situation.

I don’t know if it was discriminatory but I definitely felt some sort of bias towards me from Costco member. I was repeatedly told I was missing one item and that I didn’t pay for it. I had done self checkout but because I had a water and employee had checked my items l out. The employee even came and said that she remembered me but he still wanted to hold up the line and made me go to customer service to get my items reviewed. It was damn near embarrassing. And then as I was leaving for the second time another employee tried to flag me down. I will not tolerate this kind of behavior and will be cancelling my membership. Do not recommend this location.

Bathrooms are gross other than that the rest of it is pretty clean. Always packed of course but the lines move pretty quick. No gas though. They do have their food court, pizza is the best. Pretty consistent with the items they stock up on and they always have water toilet paper and paper towels. They usually stock up on that in the mornings so get there early. If you get there before they open they always have a long line outside.

I received excellent help from Maggy, a Costco staff, to complete a complicated return. She took the trouble to think through, and go through additional steps to make it work, so I am grateful for her kind help. I should add that this is an excellent Costco location as it is right in the mall, so you can pick up other things at the same time. If you park in the garage, there is less bad weather issues to be concerned with.

We love Costco! It has great products, a great return policy & friendly helpful staff. I held back one star because this location is always soooo crowded & the checkout lines sooo long & there is no gas station. The new self checkout lanes are helpful but only because mobile Costco staff are there with reader guns to help speed one through. If not for that, who knows. This location needs more checkout lanes open all the time and faster checkout people. Personally, I prefer the Columbia, Md location, but they don’t have the kosher food I need that is at this location & in Owings Mills, Md. Those two locations are also less crowded & have gas stations. Otherwise the place is great!

Receiving is very bad, (bald head guy?). I had 7am , appointment, showed up, 630am. They give me dock 7am . Asap docked, one of their Costco trucks showed up, and they told me pull up and wait because their trucks have perioties. 8 am they give me dock again. And it took them to unload my truck 2hrs. And that is only half trailer. Supervisor or manager not good .
