Hardback Cafe Wichita Falls

First off: the dish presentation was excellent!!! That's 5 stars alone. Taco salad reimagined, I like it. Tasted great and filling. Service was good too. The only thing is the restaurant seemed off, like really dated. Plus they didn't have the ingredients to my first drink order. Not a bother like the dining room was tho. Oh well, I very much liked that taco salad...impressive to me

Slightly disappointed in this El Chico, Waitress was nice, but not on point, great atmosphere overall in the restaurant, super nice manager, could not get our meal in a timely manner . We had a 30 minute wait after ordering, while we watched 3 other customers get seated after us , and meals way before us . Then the meal came, fajita nachos with wanky tasting small portions of meat, chicken fajita salad poorly prepared lacking veggies, and there top shelf beef fajita enchiladas that came with out any sauce in or on them , poorly prepared with wanky tasting meat precut into little cubes. The manager was outstanding, the chips and salsa along with the Caso was great, drinks were good. Normally because of the issues we would not go back, but because of the managers efforts, and the starters,,we will give them a second chance. Hopefully they will square the cook staff away, and get the wait staff to step up their game. We'll be back soon!

UPDATE: On July 4th, we went in for lunch. It was not too busy. Seated immediately, chips and sauces brought out pretty fast. Waiter took our drink order and waited 10 minutes before bringing to table. He took our order 20 minutes to get an appetizer. It was on counter. It was warm, not hot. Main dishes didn't get to the table for another 20 minutes. Arrived warm, not hot. My husband got up twice to get me some tea. He actually went to cleaning tables after I had asked him for some tea. I will never want that waiter again. We will always ask for Stephanie and wait until she has a table Enchilada Wednesday. Food was hot and delicious. Our waitress, Stephanie, always gives top-notch service.
